Big Brake Kit 91 Toyota MR2 - Stoptech ST43 Wilhelm

The Mr2 is finally getting a Big Brake Kit and it’s the only Black Anodized Kit out there - for now! After a lot of research and searching I ended up going with the Stoptech ST43 BBK. The rotors and parking brakes are by Wilwood and the kit is made possible by Wilhelm Raceworks.

These are 12.19" (310mm) Diameter Rotors? Great kit although im going to go with the 12.72" (323mm) BBDK from MR2 Heaven... Both companies now offer the Wildwood Rear Emergency Brake Caliper with Pads, Custom Mounting brackets, an Cable... Which is VERY IMPORTANT! The Emergency Brake Caliper Set is an additional $499, but well Worth it IMO. Hux Racing also offers the Caliper Mounting Brackets for $150 Front set or $150 Rear set... 04-11 Mazda RX8 Sport Front Rotors are used in the Rear 94-98 Toyota Supra TT Front Rotors are used for the Front (Id definitely go with the 2 piece Rotors an MR2 Heaven, Stoptech, Wildwood all make 2 piece Rotors in these Supra & RX8 Rotors) *side note... MR2HEAVEN & Hux Racing also make the Rear Caliper MOUNTING BRACKETS to extend the OEM 93+ Turbo Rear Calipers outwards to accommodate the 2 piece 12.72" RX8 Rotors (in MR2 Heaven, Stoptech, or Wilwood 2 piece or Single piece Rotors)

I have yet to see anyone online or in person with the anodized black stoptech kit so I definitely enjoy the exclusivity of it. There are many great kits out there. What bothers me is when I see bbk and the rotor that isn’t fully being utilized by the caliper/brake pad. It’s a waste of real estate. Look forward to seeing your set up.

That’s a pretty sweet kit! Do you have the links to all the parts you got? Also what’s size wheels are you running in the front and rear?

I have these too. The pads rattle like crazy. I had to check my suspension at first because I didn't know how noisy they were. I wonder if anti rattle clips exist

You have the black stoptech calipers? Mine don’t rattle.

@Asim.Kaleem mine are grey but same st43 from Wilhelm. Did you're come with a spring that goes under the bridge bolt and keeps tension on the tops of the pads? Otherwise they rattle over bumps. Because racecar
