Infiniti M56 Click-no-Start Issue. Pt2 - The Solution. An OEM Refurbished replacement part

The part # for the remanufactured starter is 2330M-1CA0ARW
The original part # is 23300-1CA0A

It’s generally the Armature that goes bad. The solenoid in the starter is still moving which is why you hear the click, but the armature isn’t spinning. You can think of the armature as the starter’s motor. I suspect they get worn out prematurely due to being a cheap part or undersized for the job

I was going to dig into the starter to satisfy my curiosity, but since Nissan knows the problem and offered a different unit, I just save myself the analysis and buy the new and improved unit

Thanks so much for this video, I just got an M56x 2011. Drove it home and would not start after going in and coming back after 5 mins. Replaced d battery and still have this issue occasionally. Now I know for sure it's d starter. Gonna replace under the extended warranty I got for it. Thank God for warranty. Love the car. Blower motor went out as well as rear view camera. Also, it looks like d AC fan is really loud. I can hear it at idle turning on. Love your videos

Hey! I really appreciate all the content you upload on the M's. I have an unrelated question. I have a 2003 Infiniti M45 with 109,XXX miles, and the head gasket has failed, and I want to replace the gaskets. From what I have read on my type of gasket failure, it seems to be on the exhaust side. I have bubbles in my reservoir, but no milky oil top, also the M45 only has a severe misfire when the car reached operating temperature. The car only runs hot when I turn on the cold AC. With all that being said, could you point me in the right direction on what parts to purchase along with a user's manual for the engine to tear down and reassemble? Thanks !!!

I have a 2010 Nissan Titan that I did the one-click dance with for about 6 months or so. Once I was sure it wasn't the battery or wiring I was pretty convinced it was the starter. Replaced it about a year and a half ago. No more starting issues. Same part number as you listed. I also have a 2013 Infiniti FX50 that just started doing the one-click dance intermittently. Pretty sure it's the same thing so I know I have some time before I have to get the starter replaced.

I like that, the "one-click dance" haha. The funny/frustrating thing is that sometimes the vehicles start right up with no issues. No correlation to the season of the year or anything.

The FX45 and 50 do that as well. Seems to be a common issue on most V8 platforms.

we have an issue on our 11 m56 where it sounds like its dead battery... then u stop and repush button it starts up... sometimes he has to open and shut driver door like resetting something and it starts... but still sounds like its dragging a bit.....i put my maxima with a brand new battery next to it left cables on for 20 mins and it still sounded the same... any way to check starter without pulling manifold???? this cars issues are beyond frustrating

Well...I know it will, but since I haven't used the M56 that much in a while, I haven't really jumped at the replacement. I'm saving it for when I'll be addressing the carbon build up issues then I only have to take the intake manifold out once. It also helps that the few times I've driven it, I have not really had the click-no-start issue

My 2013 M37 is doing the same thing. Can it also possibly be a fuse issue? Is it always for sure the starter?

Maybe not a fuse, but maybe a relay. Did you end up replacing it?

My starting issue literally only happens when I turn the car off after I have been driving for a while and I try and start the car soon after. Would the alternator have anything to do with it or is it still the starter?

Well, there is a different alternator issue where people report dead batteries when they have short commutes. It is said that the alternator doesn't charge until you exceed 8 miles per drive

@@EdBwoy I found a 2013 M37X(S) with get this! 30k miles. It is super super clean. Fully loaded for 13,999 there's another for 10,290 but it's just the sport, very nice but not as well equipped as the X with far more milage.

@@timaje546 I like OEM parts because historically I have found them to be of higher quality. Some things I buy aftermarket, but there are other parts I just don't risk it (for example hard to reach areas). I figure, if the original one lasted x,xxx miles then the new one is likely to do the same

Thanks for the feedback. Since I don't monitor my KZbin account round the clock, I find it easier to just provide all the info at once. Yeah, that means that sometimes there's more info than some people need, but at least it covers the people that would like to see the background info and understand the reasoning behind the decisions. There are some topics where I release 2 videos though - a full version as well as a short summary. It's not very easy to predict which ones people will want to see.
