Replacing Starter. Infiniti M56 Q70 V8. Nissan VK56VD

Another one of those repairs where the labor is much more expensive than the parts. I can see where an inexperienced mechanic may lose some parts or not connect things back the same way. Why couldn't Infiniti design the starter to be replaced without removing the intake, like in the 3.7L V6 Engine?

For FX50 shoud not be so different, right? And also is it nessessory to change the Intake manifold gasket? I think the part number for the FX50 is A4035-1CA0A

Hey man I have a question I hope you can answer. You know the VVT actuator controls on the back of the engine? The ones that can easily be damaged? 22620EY00C Can they be purchased ? How durable are they, mine are slightly damaged. Thank you!

Is the Starter in the same location on the Q70L 5.6 as the M56?

Great, i have the everything off, except the rear passenger side intake manifold bolt. The bolt you said, " I can't even see that bolt". Taking a break to figure something out.@@EdBwoy

Got all the Intake bolts off now. 1 hose in the lower rear of the Manifold, is the only thing holding on.! No room to get at that hose. Got to devise some way to get at it.? @@EdBwoy

Starter is out.. Those two 14mm. were extremely tight.!

Quick question: I have a p0301 code that has been thrown after putting 87 octane in my infiniti, i was told not to use aftermarket coils how do you feel about that

I typically try to stay with OEM components when it comes to electronics. Did things clear out with a fuel octane change?

@@EdBwoy nope I had to replace all 6 plugs and one coil and then it cleared

Did you drain the coolant before removing the intake manifold?

I do not think it is necessary to drain it entirely. You could loop the lines around for minimal loss, or just drain it to the height of the throttle bodies...but I had just recently replaced my radiator so my coolant level was pretty low.

Sorry it has been a long time since I sought any aftermarket exhaust components. When I did mine back in 2015/16 the muffler shop had a catalog and we just looked through the book and found something whose diameter seemed to match the pipe and the total dimensions at the end would fit the cutout.

Hi, I have a QX70s 5.0 liter. We spoke over F.B. about the oil pan and I hate to bother you but I lost the thread. I need an oil pan for the engine and I can't fund one anywhere. You told me that the oil pan is the same as another egine because it shares the same part number. Can you tell me what engine it shares the same pan with? Again I'm incredibly sorry to bother you. I desperately need the pan. I have had a few hits on F.B. but I don't know if I can trust anyone. If you know of a reliable source that would be extremely helpful too. Thank you in advance, K.J.

Be careful about scammers on facebook. The oil pan setup for the 5.0 is the same as the 5.6 sedan AWD. That is the M56x or Q70 V8 AWD. Are you looking for the upper oil pan or the steel lower pan?

I can’t remember if it was m45 or 56 that came with the saddle brown interior

The 2011+ models had a mocha brown interior, the 2006-2007 models had the burnt orange option

Starters rarely fail...and the benefit here is since you're removing the intake, you can walnut blast cuz the real issue is direct injection lol
