Drove a loaner for 7 weeks while waiting for our JX to come in. We traded a 2010 Armada Platinum at that time. The QX56 was an incredibly nice ride and we could see the difference between the Armada and Infiniti. If it got a bit better milage, we would have gone for it rather than the JX. If Infiniti does something with the power plant to get better milage, I'd consider it down the road. Nice vehicle and worth the extra money over the Nissan Armada.

@Lexuslover123 I too was deciding between this and the 570. But I went to the dealers, saw this, test drove it and made my decision without ever looking closely at the Lexus. This is a ridiculously awesome vehicle. Nothing like it on the road. Good luck in whatever decision you make.

Not only that, Infiniti pioneered the RearView Monitor back in 2000. A reverse camera with guide lines, unlike the JDM Soarer system from 1991. Twelve years later, nearly all cars come standard with or offer this as a feature.

I just wish QX56 came with off-road friendly 18" tires, instead of 20" or 22". I guess they know that most QX56 owners including myself and other luxury SUV owners will never take their expensive truck to serious offroad.

The body-on-frame is all-new to the infiniti brand but has actually been used by Nissan Patrol for more than 40 years. Good thing they finally replaced the relatively inferior armada body frame.

@Saforoth My dad just bought a 2012 qx black interior and black exterior and it is AMAZING you wont have trouble parking with the birds eye veiw camera and a warni ng if you are close to something. if you have the money GET IT

My parents are currently on their third QX('11 4wd) and even kept their 2008 model. Their first was a 2005 model, which I convinced my father to consider buying it as a replacement for our '04 Lexus GX and business tax purposes. The 2011 model is extremely better.

It is ignorant to assume that when Nissan introduced this in 2007. Lexus introduced their version the same year, so no one is at fault. Suppliers present these options or develop in tandem with automakers, thus being implemented during future vehicle development. Sony and Nissan entered this partnership in 2005, fitting it to the EX prototypes in mid-2006 designed the year before in 2005. The 2011 QX56 was designed in 2007, so it took until 2010 to equip it for production.

@liang8255 It is interesting how they configure the same engine differently for Chinese market. Chinese model doesn't have tow mode and they don't even list towing capacity in the spec. I guess nobody in china would tow over 3 tons of cargo. So Infiniti decides to kill towing capability for more HP. I am in the U.S. and I have never towed anything in my life. Hmmmm maybe Chinese model is better for me.
