To find some player presence, one sometimes has to actively look... and there they are! Raise them a cheer, and they'll raise one in return, if plans fly-by within range, for once.
The intended way is to find these interactions in battles, which are structured like sieges on stations. May be a losing strategic position for most hardcore spacewar, but it's what we got to work with. And as it turns out, this work is split, and in a curious pattern, between ships on each side of the battle, making allies rely on other allies in a harder way. That means - rely on me this time. So it's remote teamwork time. Kill turrets, kill smallies, even push against the red blob - to glory!
In the meantime, some "computer game" has spilled through the immersion, here to observe. There are hopes that these would be fixed, and ideas, even plans, for making so. Big space lacking action, performance waves, reinforcements running out. Those are AIs, full player server won't even have these problems, but the disconnect itself may be a problem. Braining continues.
Thanks to Dekillos, GEF24, Smileygameplayzzzz, Holas, and plooschack, for participating in battles!
