Next reason after a want to fly and observe the environment is practice with a new small feature with significant consequences - clientside braking distance calculation! Using a velocity vector and projection of ship's acceleration on it, it is possible to determine where it will stop. In this version, only visual cue is relative speed indicator lighting up - meaning speed is high enough to overshoot the target while braking at available acceleration. If it's not red, then no overshot, so it's possible to set a trajectory up and brake to stop in just the right place.
Really looking forward for expanding upon this, it can be useful in AI as well!
