Infinity O-Yoroi Kidoubutai thermal plastic model!

The O-Yoroi Kidoubutai is back, and this time it's in thermal plastic rather than a metal kit!
I honestly just like the pose of this one so much more. The original never did a whole lot for me- I liked the art, but not the execution.
My kit didn't have the best alignment of part connection points, but in the end everything seemed to work out for the most part.

You're not alone, I've had similar issues with the fittings and basically had to pin and re-align most of them. Their thermoplastic is a far cry from their metal stuff.

Thermoplastic has a good price but I think I’d have been happy if they kept them metal… even with the price infinity is a low model count game so overall one big tag for your roster wasn’t a big deal

I'm really glad you made this video. I was interested in getting this, but like the plastic kits Privateer used to sell, these thermoplastic models seem to have a lot of really ugly casting defects, extra moldlines, and poorly aligned contact points. I think I'll pass. Corvus Belli should stick to metal kits because they're 100% worth the extra money--or maybe sell STLs and 3D printed models if they're looking to diversify their product lines.

It doesn't have much of a dedicated attachment point either. I also didn't realize where it was supposed to go, making me think I'd just clip it off and call it a day.

I've seen people who are both for thermo plastics and against thermo plastics because they seem a bit wonky with the fitting. 🤔 If people aren't a huge fan of the arms of the pilot that poke out of the torso of the tag they could always use some minor green stuff sculpting to cover up the holes. Sort of why I'm a bigger fan of Aleph and PanO's tags because they're remotes and look like your more traditional mechs. I think the last Tag you put together was the Nomads Gator.

I like when you can actually see the little arms. I grew up with Appleseed landmates, so I'm quite accustomed to seeing them- unfortunately this guys are completely obscured. You're right too about me building a Gator before. If only I knew where I put it. I actually was looking forward to painting it!

I quit buying Covus Belli products as soon as they went plastic. That GW plasti-crap can go in the trash.

But at least the GW stuff is actually hard plastic you'd find in a typical model kit. Something I'd love to see Corvus Belli actually attempt with the more bog- standard units in Infinity.

If Corvus Belli was selling HIPS models like GW does, I'd actually be super happy. HIPS is super easy to work with compared to these "thermoplastic" kits, and it holds detail really well.
