I'm an INTJ and I approve this message. I've noticed people sometimes seem to forget that the inferior function is a valued function, beloved by your psyche. The unloved and underused 7th & 8th functions are the truly weak ones that only every improve out of absolute necessity. It's just that sometimes your dominant function can be real mean and totally dismissive of your inferior function despite the fact that they're supposed to work together. All the people saying "we do know what's going on", think about this: what we Ni-dominant types define as "what's going on" is still not the physical happenings. It's the conceptual unfolding; that's what we define as "now". We have a strong notion of the present, but the Se types are in the present even if or when they have no notion of it. That's the distinction.

It really depends on how well you train the skill of Se. Personally I’m an INFJ and my job has a lot of chaos but I do use my Ni as a predictor of what will happen, what would be needed ASAP and I try to plan out accordingly. As an infj , I can see that this is overall close to hitting the target for a pragmatic means of overcoming the shortcomings of dominant Ni. But to put forth Se as "reality" misses everything that could ever be construed as psychology. Perceiving functions provide an experience. An individual persons notion of reality is constructed from their combination of perception and judging functions. How well a mental construction of "reality" that person creates is based on their ability to integrate all of their experience and judgments into a model that most accurately represents the exterior world. Se can lead to a 100% failed conception of reality. But I do think you get that. Your statement at the beginning...if people really knew what introverted Intuition was, they wouldn't be fighting so hard to be one! Pure gold!!
@macoeur11222 жыл бұрын
Ouch. This is clearly coming from strong Se (even though I don't know your types) And I can see your point pretty clearly (I have a family full of strong Se's...so I've been forced to understand). Yes, I can miss what's right in front of my face. Frequently even..(and yes...ha ha...that's a real knee slapper) But having had enough years to develop my Se, I HAVE learned to use it for everything I deem "important" and to "put it down" whenever possible...because my Ni is useful and valuable to me and it doesn't make sense for me to "not" make the best use of it. There is so much more to Ni than meets the Se eye....and because we're outnumbered, y'all may never be able to access the benefits...of which there are many. I have an ESTP sister who is exactly what you seem to be wanting INFJs to be (as if INFJs are just "disabled" ESTPs) But from my own perspective, I can see all my sister misses due to her practically non-existent Ni. Do I suggest that this is a hilarious disability in her? No. It's obvious to me how childish that is. Please flip this and ask yourself if you feel an ESTP is a "malformed" INFJ. The answer is likely "no". Is it not? I'm sorry, but Se being dominant in our culture isn't any more "evidence" of it's "superiority" than anything else you can think of that's in plentiful supply. Sure Se is quite useful! Some of us have to work harder than others to develop it... But in the end we are MORE likely to develop it, than say, an ESTP is to develop their Ni...because our current world "insists" upon it...and does NOT insist on more Ni use. I would like to "insist" that y'all develop YOUR inferior function to the degree that someone who is dominant in that function has. It'll be a real "knee slapper" to watch you try....and then we can all laugh over what idiots we are for ever thinking one function is better than any other. ...Humans... 🥴 Here's a knee slapper for ya! My ESTP sister, is usually so focused on how to manipulate every detail of her environment to "get things done" that she often spends a LOT of unnecessary time and energy doing things just for the sake of doing them!....compared to someone who is taking a more "zoomed out" approach and identifying what elements of the task actually "matter" in this situation, and what is the easiest, most effective route to THAT goal? Yes she can out-accomplish me any day of the week on mudane tasks, and I say "have at it!" because a good 90% of what she "accomplishes" are momentary and fleeting accomplishments. It wears me out just to imagine being her.
@armin17122 жыл бұрын
Literally. I'm two minutes in and the tone they use talking about Ni doms is... 🥴 Weird to say the least. This is a personality channel, how can you talk about an aspect of a type like it's a disability that needs to be fixed? Like, yeah, Inf Se can be a pain in the ass, but no more than Inf Ni? Or literally EVERY inferior function? You try to develop it, but you don't try to make an INTJ into an ESFP just like you don't try to reprogram an ESTP into an INFJ. This video seems so Se biased. I've seen only a few of their videos, and If this is their language towards all the inferior functions then okay, i guess. But it doesn't feel like it is

One thing I've noticed about INFJs, is that we all seem to have great taste. We're taste machines. The downside of that, is anything bad [and 90% of all art is rubbish, let's face it]; is just PAINFUL to listen to. Roger Waters, Pink Floyd's ideas and lyrics man who also wrote practically all of their melodies [the hardest thing to do in music-none of the other members could do this, except maybe Syd in the early yrs]; is INFJ.

Nah, this isn’t my problem with Se as an INFJ. I’m not really concerned with my individual goals or trying to make “my plan” come true. I see social patterns, especially on a larger/historical scale, long before most others (scary when learned how consistent with those who study such trends). So people think I’m crazy until they think I’m psychic. Also when something happens to bring attention to those predictions/issues, I get little relief from the shortsighted bandaid “solutions” that just postpone the sh*t really hitting the fan. Savior Ni is basically chronic Cassandra syndrome. Se is just so small and can feel meaningless when you see where society is heading and feel powerless after years of being dismissed. And then day to day life is often boring and draining because relationships are almost always one sided. The problem isn’t lack of awareness, it’s lack of motivation or ability to seeing the point. Se can be overwhelmingly painful, especially when it keeps providing my predictions correct Everyday Se doesn’t provide enough stimulation to get me out of my head. Se can be fun when it’s new or thrill seeking, like roller coasters or swimming farther away from the coast, but that can’t happen very often

They are talking only about what it means to have the inferior function of the extraverted sensing. They are not infjs for sure. The intuition substitutes the extraverted sensing and it is about the predictions and knowing what’s to come, plus having an excellent planning skills from the J function. I work in the business and sometimes I create some concepts in the business plan before the management team on the top decides to approve it themselves. The great plans are not coming from the extraverted sensing only. What they talking about it is day to day small things that you miss, which is not that important (as per INFJs choice). I am good at my job, but I suck at the administration tasks. INFJ are detail oriented, but only when it comes to the tasks they find interesting and important. When you started playing the Gmail rant video I had to laugh because I haven't worked fast food since April 6th of 2008 but I STILL have nightmares about the touch screen register layout & codes being "updated". I hated when the register would get changes, and it isn't like they updated the systems very much, maybe three times in the 5 years I worked for the restaurant, and two of those were really minor things that actually made more sense, but I still hated it and was terrified of a change being made that would make it impossible for me to take an order.

You've got some confusing misnomer going on. INFJ "demon", Si (introverted sensing), refers to one of the four subconscious shadow functions, the demon function being the EIGHTH remote function or exact opposite counterpart to the conscious everyday 4th function Se (extraverted sensing). You should also qualify that in a mature INFJ (fully developed), Se is very active observant descriptive useful conscious function . An example of Se was a dream I had -- I was in the back of the car being driven with friends or acquaintances through a strange city. Consciously (in the dream, no less!) I knew to try and focus on one of the street signs so I could pick up where I was. It was just gibberish (Nj4gC2), but that's an example of acute Se(!) in the service of Ni (introverted intuition). Si in an INFJ -- "what was" -- is used during stress or while threatened. For an INFJ this is the true "demon" function. I believe the James clip is an example of an Fi-Si loop (Ne skipped over). Not that he missed the new Gmail change -- he caught it good (!) -- he relays his own deep feelings of missing "what was!"

i'm using my ni for planning stuff to ease the panic of unpredictability, think ahead, breathe for a bit and then go into the social situation with some sort of a backup. also really helps just the moments of realisation of my surroundings. like, i stop, look around and "feel out" the space i find myself in - a thing i've picked up from meditation. i can almost fully grasp what it's like to be in the moment day by day casually for sensory pals.

I was born into a family of athletes, and am naturally athletic myself. Sports are a great way to practice and develop Se. Also gets me outta my head, and into my body, as well as the present moment. Great way to get Ti to shut the hell up! No team sports though. Fe ruins team sports. Get pissed off at a teammate for screwing up, but feel empathy for them at the same time. Watch my brain explode🤯 Working as an investigator also requires adept use of Se. I have to be able to back up my conclusions with concrete observable facts. It is exhausting, and I have to take copious, intricate notes to remember what I observed in the moment. Couple hours later, and it's gone. I just know the "feeling" and "impression" I got. However, Ni tells me when to dig deeper. Even if there is no concrete observable reason I can remember noticing. I can't seem to do Si. At all. Makes no sense to me. I store my memories in tchotchkes. Who has room in their head for all that old stuff? And doing things just cuz that's how it's always been done? May as well just tell me "Because I said so" ~ which only works if you're a Judge. I remember my ex saying, one time too many, "This is how my parents did it, and I turned out fine" and I finally ~ after about 5, 6 years hearing that ~ replied "I don't think that word means what you think it means. My definition of fine is very different from yours" 😕

I guess you took it negative way. MBTI really helps people to know oneself. If you know your self, it has help you to make you profound by balancing Ne and Se by factual ground of reality. Little adoption of flexibility and little erasing rigidity. It's also necessary to being controlling Judgemental instincts. Because we all human being and judging another human beings based on your oneself Intuitive function, can't be accurate most of the time. Because Intuition with Reality has obvious differences even by name. INFJ only belongs to themselves. Lear or develop, how to continue be get along from who may fill you vacuum as well as you do vice versa. Being as a human we all has error, has also capability to erase errors, and adoption in flexible manner that suited you. You INFJ only 1.5% among the people, if you seek for validation surely they gona misunderstood you because they are average and you are exception. Hope you got the point. I am an ENTP most probably. as an ENFP (with demon Si), I’ve always 100% identified with “‘never knowing what’s going on.” I’ve even said those words verbatim. In maaaaany situations in my life (especially when I’m going somewhere or doing something for the first time), I tend to feel lost, like there are things that everyone else but me is aware of, like codes of etiquette or what to do/say in public places. It’s like there’s some secret handbook of mutual knowledge and understanding everyone has that I’m just excluded from. People have always called it “common sense,” but why should it be? how am I supposed to automatically know what to do in a situation I’ve never been in before, or I’ve just ignored my entire life? 🤷♂️ I’m too “in my head” I guess I’ve also always been terrible with directions. Sounds a lot like demon Se but I’m supposed to have demon Si.
@sophiaredwood58254 жыл бұрын
ENFP here: this is the most relatable thing in the world. I literally got myself a book written by an FBI agent about reading body language because I find “common sense” so intriguing... like, people can literally read other people’s small changes in body language to know how they feel? Sounds more like something in a book than something in reality. And by doing this, tying Ne and my lead consume tendencies into the details my Si overlooks, I can bring myself to learn more about them. Then trying to notice them in real time becomes much more fun, since it feels more like an Ne thing.

The main reason INFJs are susceptible to this is because their Ni is a pattern recognizing function, tied directly to Fe, which is acutely aware of the emotions and intentions of others. I had to downvote the video, which is something I rarely do. It's not a direct attack at you, but what will follow as a result of this video. It's all in the defense of INFJs by forecasting potential issues. Saying that the INFJ "missing Se" isn't something to be proud of, should lead INFJs to work on cultivating it. The result? The INFJ with a developed Se may be mistaken as another type. However, in your previous videos, you guys advised to cultivate all 8 functions "in order to get shit done". Most people aren't afforded the ability to develop all 8 functions because it requires intense and continuous exposures to many different levels of experiences, including stressful ones. In the end, when INFJs take your advice and develop their functions, they will then potentially be further ostracized for not seeming like the other underdeveloped INFJs..
