Vague or blunt questions amuse most INFJs, they make sure the person who's asking knows that the depth in their choice of words isn't the same as what their curiosity is about. A good example here, when he explains hypothetical scenario of standing with stick with some curious sign on it will draw enough attention, which doesn't necessarily mean something excellent is going on. They tend to make the questioner come to correct terms with thier curiosity and then answer them.

He picked an interesting tangent to answer an insulting, loaded, baiting question. I think his long pause was actually humorous, it spoke volumes. Interesting dude right there. In my younger days I would have tried to really answer the question thoughtfully. Now, as an older INFJ, I'd just say "Are you saying that I suck?" and stare at them waiting for an answer. Maybe I'll get to watch them dance. Why not play the game?
@madhurvyas253 жыл бұрын
@@jfo3000 Yes exactly, the moment she asks the questions it's quite evident that a nerve is triggered there, but then also a lot of other emotions are also triggered which explain the choice between different tangents. The pause as you said speaks volumes that it's the time being taken to take into consideration all that has been triggered and matching each of it to that situation and see which fits right or most to it and then framing a reply which answers in a way that no doubt of any kind is to be left.

So much of my communication is non verbal, and this is also the way that I tend to read people. I either get stuck on some aspects of an idea, overexplaining them, and end up forgetting the rest, or I simply stumble with finding the right words. I can also never carry the same message over more than once; it's as if I have to think of a reply (a verbal one) each time so it sometimes appears as if I'm not being consistant with my answers... whenever I talk about something I like, I just always forget to mention some things, or don't elaborate on others as much as I should. I can see the idea and core of what I want to say, but it is never apparent to others, and it's like constantly going in cirles trying to explain what I meant. I can tell which parts of my message others will misinterpret so I keep filling these holes up, answering them in advance, and then my messages end up being too long and boring... though if I didn't do it, they'd misinterpet everything and take offense :/

This is what INFJ looks for, and yes for that to happen we already have analyzed your thought pattern and from what point to what point your personality stretches to. The people that know me get frustrated because they think I am patronizing their intelligence and ask me to just say my message without filtering. Then when I do speak in a unbridled manner, they don't understand lick spit of what I just said or get the complete wrong impression/idea *SCREAMS IN INFJ PAIN AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaah*

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of experience dealing with people. I was branded a INFJ quite sometime ago. I never really accepted that evaluation because placing 'labels' on people puts them into a box. It limits their potentiality and personal growth. At worse, it can destroy a individual's self determination and freedom. However, the Myers Briggs Personally Test is interesting but somewhat incomplete. I have never encountered a 'classical' INFJ before. Why? Because certain characteristics of this personality type have many subgroups some of which overlap other MBTI personality types. That being said I will describe the characteristics of how a 'orthodox' INFJ thinks, behaves and responds in strict accordance with the MBTI Personalty Test. Be forewarned, I find some INFJ 'stereotypes' rather funny. And will approach such in a humorous fashion. INFJ's posess a wonderfully sense irony and will immediately recognize the silly 'stereotypes' others have attrubuted to them.....So let's start breaking some myths about the INFJ Personalty Type When a INFJ gives you the dreaded 'Death Stair' they are not attempting to understand you. They are wondering if you're carrying a gun. Killing INFJ's is a pleasurable experience. Why? Because everyone hates a smart ass. INFJ's frequently experience 'Sensory Overload' issues. They love Forests, Parks and Woodland areas to recharge their batteries. Why? Because trees don't talk! A squirrel cannot complain it has 'Daddy Issues'. Pine trees do not suffer from 'gender identity' problems. And I have never seen a bunny rabbit strung out Crack Cocaine. Solitude is bliss. Never say to a INFJ, 'I do not understand', They will run away screaming or jump infront of a bus. No one understands them. INFJ's sometimes don't even understand themselves. INFJ's feel uncomfortable being around large groups of people. However, once you get them talking, they never shut up. Why do a INFJ 'Door Slam' people? Because it's called a Coping Mechanism. They dislike being emotionally hurt. There is nothing strange about this behavior. Some people become alcoholics others pill poppers. INFJ's will just run away and pretend you never existed. INFJ's have the psychic ability to absorb people's emotions. No. This is phenomen is called 'Transference'. If you continuously talk about your problems, a INFJ will unconsciously adopt some aspects of your emotional state. However, INFJ's posess strong identities which prevents them from going completely insane. INFJ's are the most honest, compassionate and sensative people on Earth. Not really. Mother Nature just screwed them up genetically. They're brains are hard wired to respond during crisis situations. A 'diehard' INFJ will instinctively sacrifice their life attempting to save yours. No questions asked. Why? I have no freaking idea. I didn't invent the rules. Ask God. I'm sure She knows. INFJ's think differently than others. Yes. They think outside the box. They live outside the box. They have never actually seen the box. What does it look like? Does it contain groceries? INFJ types are occasionally arrogant, cold towards others and aloof. This is actually true. Being omnipotent has its drawbacks. INFJ's have a difficult time sugar-coating the truth. Being overtly honest is their trademark. If they sense someone cannot handle the truth, they will lie to protect that person's emotions. INFJ's are stubborn yet will openly admit to errors in judgment or making mistakes. INFJ's think too deeply. They want to solve everyone's problems. They get frustrated when people ask for advice - then completely ignore their recommendations! They do not understand why everyone keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. Eventually, a INFJ will simply give up. The phrase 'People need to learn things the hard way' was invented by a INFJ. So was the 'unfriend' button on Facebook. INFJ's do not respect authority because they have developed their own Moral, Ethical, Spiritual and Cognative belief systems. Mature (older) INFJ's care very little about how people perceive them and less about the impressions they make upon others. INFJ's enjoy approval and acceptance (like everyone else) but infrequently compromise their princepals to simply fit in. Do not mistake a INFJ's confidence as egocentrismn. There is a difference. INFJ's are frequently interpreted as posessing a Narcissist Personalty Disorder. This stereotype is absolutely false. A Narcissist loves adoration and attention. The typical INFJ cares more about others than themselves, sometime to their own detriment. INFJ's dislike themselves. They feel alone within the world and misunderstood. Being a INFJ a curse. Consequently, a small minority INFJ's often experience psychological Depression, Alienation Issues and Avoident Behavior problems. The phrase 'You are your own worst enemy' accurately describes a INFJ's perception of themselves. The most admirable personality traits of the INFJ are (1) INFJ's are compassionate which makes them a easy targets for emotional exploitation and abuse. Never play 'Guilt Games' with a INFJ. They already persecute themselves (subconsciously) for being different. (2) They don't have the ability to forgive themselves for past mistakes, A INFJ's unforgiving 'Guilt Complex' is an integral part of their personality. INFJ's have occasionally been known to slowly kill themselves over time, believing they deserve such suffering. 'Hell on Earth' is their punishment and they willing accept it....sometimes. Not always. (3) Once you secure the trust of a INFJ, everything about them suddenly becomes clear. The stereotypes vanish. These are people you want within your life. They have incredible insight into human nature and will identify your weaknesses and lift you up from darkness. Seeing the world through a INFJ eyes is the greatest gift they can offer. It would be impossible to understand a MBTI typology without stating the negative traits of a specific personality group. The 'Dark Side' of a INFJ is rather frightening. Never test their 'Authenticity' or personal dignity. Do not play games with a INFJ. They have limitations like everyone else. A INFJ can determine your intentions or plans within minutes. Literally. This Hyperobservient behavior is quite unique. Avoid getting into heated arguments with a INFJ unless you are prepared to be intellectually, emotionally or psychologically castrated. They have cognitive resources almost beyond understanding. A vindictive INFJ will never stop until they destroy your life (this has nothing to do with physical murder). Such behavior is almost Psychopathic in nature (hence the concern INFJ's may be catorgized as possessing a Psychological Disorder rather than a Personality Dysfunction). Fortunately, INFJ's are not prone to violent behavior. They give up easily, This is where the 'Door Slam' or simply walking away from an argument comes from. Once they reveal their true inner nature, you will begin to understand why only 1% of the world's population are INFJ's. They are so dam charming. INFJ's dislike small talk, idle conversations, superficial people and hypocrites. Life is too short talking to such individuals (but they understand its occasionally necessary to be socially accepted) INFJ's are not spontaneous. They just pretend to be spontaneous. Their minds are always attempting to 'connect the dots....even when there are no dots! When the Zombie Apocalypse occurs, a INFJ will be eaten screaming, "I told you so... I told you so!" Imagine your on the Titanic. It's 1912. You see a Iceberg coming. Your jumping around and telling everyone the ship is about to sink. People just laugh and finish their Champagne. Welcome to the wonderful world of a INFJ. Avoid getting into deep conversations with a INFJ. They are walking encyclopedias. They will jump from topic to topic then back again to support a idea or theory. Male INFJ's are 'scattered brained' in the worst way possible. But there is method to such madness. The are searching for the correct answer to a specific problem. And 95% of the time they will discover it... or have a complete nervous breakdown trying. Occasionally, you will notice a INFJ acting mysteriously, doing unusual things or just behaving weird. Get used to this behavior. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. The INFJ is just going through a 'stage' or experimenting with something that interests them. Like building a Thermonuclear Bomb or discovering a cure for Herpes. Never tell a INFJ they have a 'Old Soul'. They are absolutely terrified of being reincarnated again. INFJ's are aware that neither Heaven or Hell wants them. Why? Because God doesn't need the extra competition on who should run Heaven (Him or a INFJ) and Satan can't deal with a INFJ pestering him for all eternity....that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. Aliens will never abduct a INFJ. There are some things too bizarre even for Extraterrestrials. INFJ's have a difficult time forming a thought or idea into words. Yes. Someday a INFJ will develop Telekinesis and scare the hell out of everyone. Stop laughing, it's going to happen. So next time you accidentally encounter a INFJ, break all COVID 'Social Distancing' issues and hug them. INFJ's are a endangered species. Literally. Whatever purpose they were created for has already been accomplished. There represent only 1% of 7.7 billion people on planet Earth according to MBTI statistics. In my opinion, this Myers Briggs Personality represents the noblest aspects of humanity....Intelligent, Wise, Caring, Virtuous, Observent, Altruistic and Protective. Dispight their faults (which everyone has, no one is perfect) INFJ's are genuine. You get exactly what you see meeting these people. No convert agenda, deeply empathic intellectuals who sincerely care about you. They have a excellent sense of humor also (wink).

alright so im kind of confused with my mbti, im either infj (i relate to this more) but recently i took it over after some couple month and im isfp. so could you guys tell me which one am i? im afraid of people sometimes when im on the streets, i think persons are judging me i like to learn different language (but my determination skills are lacking) i mostly listen to people when they are talking. i dont make friends easily. i dont pot anything on social media, only use it to look on what other persons are doing. i dont like groups assignments. i love to sleep i love to be by myself, most of the time even though i may be introverted, if you get to know me, i extroverted im weird, (doing random stuffs) i always hurt myself like trip. i love to watch youtube i like when my opinions are heard but cant say it out loud to persons i dont know. sometimes i get disappointed in myself. i love to help others i cant say no to people, but when im helping them and they dont cooperate i tend to not have patience but will hide it. i also dont know how to open up to someone, but if someone is to open up to me, i will be willing to help them. i tend to hide my feeling to myself. i often cry in a sad show and when i dont want to cry and laugh along with it. when im doing a test, i have anxiety bcz i want to convince myself that i want to do well. because im doing very good at school and people tend to have high hopes for me. so im very exhausted to try to keep that.

You are certainly an INFJ and may even be a bit turbulent, making you a INFJ-T. As an INFJ myself, I felt this connection very heavily. ISFP are very physically creative people who have a knack for details. INFJ's, however, are more prone to be creatively influenced internally. This makes them very understanding people, giving them the gift of consoling and being therapeutic. From what I read about you, you are very INFJ-ish.

Not that you can type from just this statement, but Bittersweet is wrong. I am an INFJ. You remind me of my son, who is INFP... but not because of what you said about yourself, but because of how you said it. "i", "i", "i", "i", detail, detail, detail, listing, but without stress in the order; not any care at all about even getting grammar close to typical... You clearly like to be alone... Introvert. So then which function? Feeling. You hide your feeling to yourself. Then the introverted sensing list of what you know about yourself is easily organized, backed up by whether it feels right to you... Combined with the general vibe I get from you that you're AWARE that that kind of introversion is obvious, but you still think you're opaque instead of transparent; despite asking people to type you, you are still trying to come off as opaque. My INFP son does those things. One of the things that intrigues me is how much intuition increases someone's I.Q.. Despite being a Fi-dom, he's a VERY smart cookie. But he works kinda slow and his anxiety affects his performance adversely instead of well. That's inferior Te stuff... An INFJ would not be talking the same way, neither really saying those things. I know I'm 38, so I'm well into dealing with my inferior Se and my Ni, Fe, and Ti are strong, practiced, and mostly balanced(my Fe is still getting stronger, I was TORMENTED for much of my life, so I had to just wish well for my enemies more than really being able to do it, at the time... but now my 5th kid is on the way((FINALLY, A GIRL!!!)so Fe is busy). But, myself, if someone asked me to describe myself honestly, at the age of 38... I've learned enough from psychology and a life-time of learning how to put into words: Chaos torments my heart. I can handle loud, or crazy, or whatever... if it's PLANNED and/or organized. Random movements, crazy antics, sudden noises, etc. Cause me a great deal of stress. Lots. And I tend to feel guilty because people know it stresses me so I'm worried that they're worried that I'm stressed by the chaos... that's my primary downside. It's terrible. Otherwise, I'm just a thinker, a lover, a warrior, a leader... people come to me for advice. I'm like some kinda warrior sage at 38. It's... strange. I spend lots of time being very quiet, envisioning, processing, watching the flow, seeking the root or point of origination of everything under the sun(and above it, I suppose)... when I'm answering questions or having an insight, I will take pauses just like many in this video - but if I have PROCESSED my revelation, I will go to someone who will listen and BLAST, or I will write it down, or build it, or something. Because of some hindrances lately, I've had to file away all of those under an internal algorithm which will recreate that whole idea... and just a nod or breath towards that area again usually makes the whole thing play through my head again(Fe, or Ti, or Se, or even alternate Ni kickstarting Ni memory is best way to describe)... too much to explain, but I'm not going to delete because that would be antithetical to this cause. I feel like I have much more to say, but I lost track when my 1.5 yr old galloped through the hall. Basically, INFJ feels very alone, like we're the only ones who can see both all the reality and the abstract, while still having lots of empathy for people (sometimes, I find myself seeing people who are hurting as better than me, and people who aren't as less aware than me... weird, I know). But I love skills... if I can find the core reason, who I am really serving... I can't focus. He sounds like Pinocchio falling down wooden stairs and all he is doing is running through the hall... how is this kid so wild... he is so cute though!

George Harrison is a difficult one, he's definitely not an INFJ, he has very weak FE but you see it in later interviews so i think it became more developed as the years went on but it's certainly not his his auxiliary function. INFJ - Notice the warmness, the FE kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpSrfHxjZbCsa5I
@jamesmoran43936 жыл бұрын
Harrison was very guarded and somewhat cold and unapproachable, for this reason i know a few people that type him an an INTJ. He could be very passive aggressive which is very common for ISFP's and similar types, not INFJ'S though. I personally see him as either an ISTP or an ISFP. The two types are very different so it's a bit odd for me to be confused between the two, I think he leads with a judging function, so either TI or FI, in my opinion of course:)
Try using Fe openly when you've grown up in the Beatles - it would kill you! Ni protects us, makes us seem colder to strangers and the public. Especially the guys seem to have issues, because they are not meant to be that warm, according to patriarchy.
@pash99564 жыл бұрын
I am not warm in outward behavior and yet as soon as I am approached I give off a warm vibe. Always. It's a good way to deflect people you don't want to talk to. And if you do, you hang in with a smile in your eyes.

@@pash9956 This was two years ago, my knowledge of functions have increased by a ton but George Harrison is still an ISFP. I'v met cold Ni doms too, it really depends.
