Worst and longest relationship I've ever been in. No validation or appreciation for all of my self sacrifice. Any attempt on my part to plan or organize a future for us was viewed as controlling. Never wanted to REALLY know who I was. Sex was great though.... So great we lasted 13 years.

Why prop up your own “self sacrifice” as if it is so virtuous? That’s self indulgent. Genuine self sacrifice isn’t done for props and appreciation. It sounds like you have a martyr complex, and sex is purely an act of physical pleasure, devoid of meaning. If I’m misunderstanding your intentions, or character, I apologize, as I am only basing this on a single comment.
