I just put my chocolate lab down 3 days ago. He was my best friend for 12 years until cancer got the best of him. Hardest thing I have had to do in a long time. I don't think I have ever been this sad. Seeing your pup run around and love the snow and water and ice and chew sticks made me smile today. Thank you. Cherish that man.

Love that you have pet insurance for Chester. We had a dog (and a cat) who had pet versions of ACL injuries and they were profoundly expensive (and there wasn't such a thing as pet health care insurance at the time). Hugs and really great chewing sticks for Chester!!!

Love the channel, congrats on the recent engagement. Our 6 year old Lab had the same issue with the same procedure and made a full recovery. She was good for 7 more years until cancer when she was 13. Good luck!

Luv your outdoor adventures , can’t get enough of them especially with Chester! I used to have a yellow Lab, named Higgins and Chester reminds me of him so very much. Labs are notorious for having hip problems. I hope that everything goes well for Chester with the upcoming procedure. Will be praying for him,Cheers!

I came from The Wooded Beardsman channel he linked Your youtube channel. You seem like a great personality for the KZbin community with the Winter camping etc. I hope Chester is ok. I have a Dog named Zoom. He would zoom around the place. I Did not want him at the start. My sisters two dogs created him. At 7 weeks old my sister dropped him off. He was smaller than my hand. When I went to bed, he snuggled into my neck. I still remember that day and the connection and bonding. He is now 18 years old. He walks into my room and looks at me, waiting for me to pick him up and put into "his" bed, which is mine. Then hogs the middle of the bed. I try to gently push him to the left side of the bed when I get in and he just moves back so he is next to me. God bless you all and if you look after your dogs they will look after you 10 times more.

Two years ago, my dog, Leo had a TTA-2 surgery to repair his CCL (ACL). This was his third orthopedic surgery. Yep, recovery is 8 weeks with crated rest highly recommended and keeping dog leashed. If you have slippery floors recommend putting rugs or something down to prevent slipping, and put a note on your door to discourage people from ringing your doorbell in case Chester reacts to the noise. Love your channel! Good luck with the surgery! You two got this!

I’ve never seen that made without a milk product. When I make mine I use a can of cream of mushroom soup and then stir in about 1/4 cup of sour cream the last 30 min or so in the crock pot.

OMG Chester is so much like Tucker , right away got a stuck to chew and showing up that old decoy would definitely be Tucker if there was one around lol. In my last video Tucker ate so many sticks he was up during the night throwing them back up which is something he does often lol. Which made for a restless night for me lol.

I'm not sure if I would be in bear country without at least a 338 Winchester rifle or 30-378 Weatherby rifle. Preferably lever action. Plus a .357 magnum or .44 magnum pistol with hollow-point cartridges on my hip. I don't want to shoot anything. I just want to stay alive and keep my dog alive. Love your video. Your dog is the best ever isn't he? When I was a child growing up on a ranch, we had a big black female Great Dane named Jet that we roamed thousands of acres with. The most loving, loyal, obedient and protective dog ever. Hardly a day goes by still that I don't think of her and sigh.

we have a lab that had surgery on both rear legs - is a pain for recovery, but is worth it!

Typically our pets take on our stress and emotions which relieve us from having to do it all on our own. Your dog may be able to be helped using some distance healing. I used to have a Border Collie who did this for me. Give me a shout, respond, comment if you would like some more info.

Our 4 yearold dog had the surgery called aTPLO surgery on his left leg. At the time the vet mentioned he would need the other one done later as it is a Bilateral issue. The pet insurance recognizes this yo be true and treats it as a single procedure. Hence, there is only one deductible. Our dog has had both legs done and has been great ever since.

My dog (7 years old) just had her ACL/cruciate ligament repaired in December. The 8 week recover was rough, only going outside to bathroom then back to cooped up. But now in March she is back to normal and running around good as new. Crazy how the procedure is done.
