Hope it was helpful. Inflation brings a very different and uncertain environment. Next 5-10 years will be super different than the last 5-10, because interest rates were pretty much a non-factor.

Hi, I know bonds aren't good when interest rates are rising, but how about inflation linked bonds? (interest rates rising is linked to inflation rising)
@UpDive82 жыл бұрын
It depends. Inflation linked bonds reset coupon rates only periodically so if inflation really outruns in the interim it’ll underperform. Also, inflation bonds are now priced very high as well, so there are a lot of expectations built in. And the yields start quite low as well, because price is high and generally interest rates are low, so it probably won’t be my first choice at all if I see inflation is on the horizon.

UpDive, you are funny, smart and switched on! PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS!!!!! My other half doesn't understand money, economics, frugality or delayed gratification. Can you help?

Thanks Caroline. Appreciate the nice comments and the suggestions. I’ll keep that in mind for the next few videos. Most importantly, hang in there. Inflation will take us allll for a bumpy ride.

You made an interesting video about commodity super cycles. Do you still think this is the case and which commodity stocks/companies would you recommend. How do tech stock do during such periodes? Great videos, keep it up 🙂
@UpDive82 жыл бұрын
My take is non profitable tech stocks probably will have a very hard time in commodity cycles which drives up inflation and interest rates. And for profitable tech stocks, have to see what their price levels are and do they make sense. They’re in a relatively better position.
