WIZZ AIR: Trip Report - London Luton to Kiev Zhuliany (Airbus A320)

I finally bit the bullet and made a trip report with Wizz Air, Central Europe's ultra low cost carrier! A very different experience but other than the very tight seat pitch on the flights a relatively pleasant experience - and for less than £30 each way it's difficult to complain!

Wow, this is a real blast from the past. I haven't flown with Wizz for just over 3 years when I used to fly with them regularly to Hungary. I was surprised to see that they have Hungarian writing even on a plane to the Ukraine! That whole experience, calling boarding before the plane has even landed, waiting beyond the gate watching the incoming passengers disembark, all so familiar. Thanks for the video!

The Hungarian writing is probably a legal requirement as Wizz is I believe Hungary's flag carrier and the plane is registered in Hungary.

Wizz Air is one of only two airlines I have flown with, the other being Aegean. I flew with them on their Cluj to Luton flights.

Nice report! It is very good that you upload different routes, long and short, with different airlines. I would strongly suggest that you make it a standard to include the synchronised map on the corner of the screen, that you use lately, to all videos. It makes the video so much more interesting! Thank you for the reply man! Keep in mind that your videos are not only fun. I belong to the 20-25% of the population that fights claustrophobia and flying anxiety for many years now, and I use your videos before I go to sleep, or in other instances to train my brain (note: I have studied neuroscience) to be more comfortable on flights. So, all these video angles, pre and post images, synchronized maps etc, all are very very helpful for people like me to love flying more and more. Keep up the good work! P.S. it might be interesting to find the few fear of flying seminars available (Virgin, Air France, SwissGeneva, Lufthansa etc) and make a short documentary about them (I am sure they will allow you in as media for free). People will view them, and might join one of them, so they will be helped in their lives through you. I have attended one in Geneva, Switzerland, which actually runs full capacity for 20 years now, as it is a service much needed here in such an internaltional city. Thank you again!

Done this flight a few times. Agree the leg room is limited, badly, and Wizz tend to just bung everyone on at the last minute. How did you get flights for £30 though? And also Wizz are now doing Luton-Lviv which is excellent for myself. Good views!

Yes it was crazy how they got us all to wait outside - never had that before even with easyJet and Ryanair! They were actually cheaper - I just checked and it was £24 for this flight, £34 for the return leg. This is with their discount club pricing though.

Love Wizz Air. I always have a great experience with them. Booked to fly from Luton to Larnaca in June with the. I prefer their new livery (white front, pink back) rather than the pink from white back livery. What about you?

Yes I agree - the new livery is nicer. The leg room is terrible though so I probably won't be flying with them again any time soon - this was a very long flight for such a tight seat, and I think the fact that they are always so packed full doesn't help.

Yeah as I say I always have the extra legroom front seats, being 6ft 2 it helps! The other seats do look awful though. Great video by the way

You'll be ok - think about how many thousands of flights happen across the world every single day without incident :) as for the heights thing, yes it's scary but try to remember you're in safe hands with experienced pilots in a plane that's been tested and maintained thoroughly

Hi, I’m flying to Ukraine in December on Wizzair. I was wondering, did you need a visa? I have looked it up and it said that you don’t need one if you don’t stay for long and if you don’t stay for more 90 days but as you have personally gone to there I would like to ask.

Can anyone give me a link to Wizzair "welfare"? This company (I don't have words to call them) sent me a letter in response to my complain asking to write a complain in their "welfare" section. But there is no such section on their webpage and the search shows nothing! I'm going to sue them but I cannot send them a complain before that. They denied me to get on board to Bulgaria, though I have an opened Shengen visa. I lost thousands euro because of that. I got no any written explanation. I was driven out with nothing. And I cannot complain on their webpage because it is impossible!
