Today's flight begins in the tiny terminal building at Aberdeen Airport, after our arrival from Manchester. Our aircraft for today, Airbus A319 G-EUOD is already on stand having just arrived from Heathrow.
Boarding is soon announced and we board the aircraft through the forward air stairs. We take our seat in 2A, with a great view of the engine. Before long boarding is complete, we receive our taxi clearance and taxi out to runway 34.
We take off towards the north and get a fantastic view over eastern Scotland and the Cairngorm Mountains as we head south towards Edinburgh, climbing up to 37,000ft.
Once we reach cruising altitude we are able to sample the new Marks & Spencer food menu onboard today's flight, although unfortunately they only have available a couple of sandwiches and not the salad I'd hoped for.
We continue south towards Manchester and Birmingham, before commencing our descent into London. We don't have to hold on the way in and make our way across the city of London, for a scenic approach onto runway 27L. We get a fantastic view of the entire city of London on this beautiful day, before touching down early on runway 27L. Unfortunately our stand is not yet available however, and we have to sit with our engines running for around 25 minutes ahead of the stand becoming available, before we can taxi in to Terminal 5. We disembark through the airbridge making our way into the terminal, through the transfer channel and into the departure lounge for our next flight.

This is absolutely beautiful video of the people who is on the plane of British Airways. I really love this and I have been flying out on British Airways to London, England & it is really a great flight . I love flying to London England and to see the Big Ben and the Buckingham Palace . Also I love the songs that they sing like *AMAZING GRACE* with the bagplpes and drums . Thank you for sharing this video with me and my family. We all love this so much. I saw your IOM-LCY video. Your video's are excellent and I like the idea that you cover everything, your time at an airports and the full flight. I have flown BA City flyer LCY to AMS and RTM. Short flights, but enjoyable.

Well, I thought you were using the GoPro4, but I see it's the 3. The nicest part about the 5 is that the sound is so much more realistic; you really hear, (and almost feel), as if you're really in the airplane. It'd be great if I could afford a VIP Lounge membership, but alas, I have to settle for this. Just listen to those engines! Absolutely fantastic engines. Also, do you know how old this airplane is?

Hey Heather, thanks for your comment :) I use a GoPro 4. The audio on the 5 in my experience is quite muffled as they have made it waterproof, if you watch my Aegean flight it was filmed by a guy with a Hero 5 . It's quite muffled, you need an external microphone really. Sign up for a free trial Heather and let me know when you have, I will sort it out for you :) Oh and the aircraft is 4 years old I believe, delivered in 2013.

I prefer the angle from in front of the wing. You get better noise from the engines and get to see the fan blades. Behind the engine you just get a roar/rumble noise.

are you still using the GoPro4? Oh how I wish you could use the new GoPro5, because it's got much better sound. I'd love to support you financially, but I'm on a fixed income, and this is the third year my monthly checks have stayed the same.. It's so frustrating. Is the Gopro5 much more expensive than the 4, and/or will they let you trade it in for the upgrade? It would make such a huge difference in the sound quality. The only way I can open up the sound any is to partially plug in the headphones only enough to allow the speakers to also remain playing, too. It isn't that easy. Otherwise, I'm about to sit back, and let this flight take me away.

What do you think of the buy on board so far? I've flown this route many of times before buy on board was introduced, I'm due to fly to Heathrow in April, on the first flight down to Heathrow, was the process quick and easy to use for the length of the flight?

Well to be honest I wasn't that impressed with my experience. I wanted a salad but they didn't have any, just Ploughmans sandwiches. Even then it took around 10 minutes for them to figure out how I could pay with my card. I guess it was fairly new as they'd only been using it a few days, but first impressions count and it wasn't a great one! :)

inflight Video Buy on board was introduced on the 11th of January, BA had some struggle to get this launched, even some rows rows would be served, and others missed my the length of the payment process, I will give it a try and see if it's any good for the return leg back to Aberdeen. :)

I do indeed :) I will be doing Frankfurt-San Francisco-London Heathrow in June on the United 747, and then London Gatwick-New York JFK-London Gatwick in a day on the Norwegian B787-9 Dreamliner in September :) Aside from that, you can expect some longer flights from DFW too, with some 4-5 hour flights there, and hopefully some more longhauls too :)
