I think in our teenage years and our twenties, we compare ourselves a lot and there’s a lot of beauty standards that we feel we must follow. But as we age and enter our thirties, we develop that confidence that being ourselves gives us. Being comfortable in our own skin is something I feel more now that I’m in my mid thirties.

I felt that way but I think if I had 1 “strong “ woman to teach me I’ll be different in my teenage. I love my mother and I understand she was just trying to make sure I make it to the better life but it’s now up to us in our 28+ to undo that learning and expand the learning and push for a new social norm

I can totally relate. I feel more in my skin now at 33 than at 21. :)

Love it! Love how you pushing to change things for girls/ woman. Might not seem like it and you are just sharing your life and growth. Only have one life! Why not enjoy it! I started wearing wigs to just add to my personality and excitement! Be a kid again

It's definitely never too late. My mom once told me she didn't really start feeling like a "hot girl" (not her exact phrasing, but you get the gist) until her 40s!!! At 38 you are definitely only just getting started. (P.S. can I just say that I love that you take yourself seriously as a businesswoman, and don't try to play it down for anyone? I've noticed a disturbing trend of people seeming to almost mock women with jobs or careers (and sometimes it's a misguided attempt to honor more "traditional" women), and terms like "girl boss" have become like a pejorative. I just like that you don't buy into that nonsense. It's okay for women to take ourselves seriously at work, and it doesn't make us less of a woman, mother, etc. Phlur has grown so much and you should be proud of that!)

I agree, people often cant bring up one without someone knocking the other down. Im a SAHM and i often get this with people and alot of women that work outside the home when they ask me what i do. For some reason just sharing our different choices in life causes many people to become defensive of their own. It actually happens with many different things in life, and its people projecting and trying to get validation from others. People just need to be way more confident in their own choices and stop comparing. Which can be hard when u feel like ur under appreciated and looked down upon which both groups of women have in common.

love your honest and real take on things!! It's also inspiring to see that your life can actually get EVEN better with age & responsibilities, and not what society tries to tell you otherwise

I’m living my best life now. My 20s was chaotic bc of lack of shadow work and healing my nervous system. May you all find home in yourself, love your life so much that you guard your peace. ♏️💜💜💜💜

I am 69. Style changes but I still have unique tastes. Getting older allows you to be weird and get away with it. FREEDOM!

„I never felt younger“ really hits - I‘ve always felt so old in my 20s, since there was always someone younger who achieved „more“. Focussing more on yourself helps.
