Divorce is truly a way to say goodbye to your old self, and it was beautiful to see how my girlfriends, family and team came to be by my side during the hardest moments of my life. The heartbreak I felt was undeniable but I also experienced so much love.
Here’s the second part of this series guys, sharing a bit more about how my tribe came through for me during this time and how I ended up living with my parents at 38yrs old.

They didn’t HAVE to leave their home. They chose to. That is what differentiates parental love from all other love. The Giving Tree. How beautiful this difficult situation you experienced brought you even closer and more connected and comforted by your parents. ❤

We're so fortunate to have such kind and loving parents. Not everyone has that luxury. I just suddenly lost my job right before my lease renewed and decided to move back with my parents temporarily to get my feet on the ground again. Your journey and raw candor have been inspiring. All the best, Chriselle!

Your situation is definitely very unique. Majority do not have grandparents able and willing to step in and there is no tribe of “friends” that will help one through. Unfortunately we are normally surrounded by silent haters and ppl who just don’t care. You are very blessed!

I am in a small group of men & women who are single/divorced. It helps so much! Praying you and everyone who have gone through divorce find healing and peace. Sending love and positive vibes. 🙏💕

Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I am currently living with my parents at 45 as a result of my divorce. I gave up everything for my relationship and my marriage ended and I had nothing. I lost myself and am now trying to rebuild a life and independence. It’s been such a difficult and sometimes lonely time for me and I can’t put into words how inspiring watching this video is. Helps me to put into perspective my circumstances and not feel shame or failure. I too am so blessed to have 2 wonderful parents who have given me shelter, support, comfort, and unconditional love. You are so brave and from the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤ wishing you all the best life has to offer you in this next chapter.

This really made me cry, tho I've never been married in order to even get divorced, I feel like I needed to hear that last bit "today's struggle is tomorrow's strength" bc I am struggling to figure out my life and start my career rn. Seeing you open up like this is letting me see that I need to start somewhere and open up about these struggles with my own people so that things will eventually get better ♡♥︎

Oh my goodness you had me in tears when you said how your mom would cook for you and your dad would play guitar to you in the evening! Made my heart melt and I'm glad you had that support from them and they wanted to take care of their princess thru her hard time so for them to move to where you are then that's parents protection and that makes my heart melt for a parents love for their child.

I love that you touched on what your previous idea of “happily ever after” meant. I was the same way, I never thought I would be a divorced, single parent. I miss my kid so much when he’s not with me, it feels like a part of me is gone. It’s been 6 years and I don’t think you get used to it really, you just adapt and do what works best. My parents saved me too for the first two years, I, like you, went through a paralyzed phase where I just couldn’t do anything for myself. The one thing I am proud of though is I stayed in college full time and got my degree! ❤

If there's one thing I learned throughout the years, is that parents (if you are lucky to have both, in my case it's only my mum) will always be there no matter what when everyone else is letting you down. I can't imagine what you've been through, but I can say that Chloe & Colette are so, so lucky to have parents who are putting them ahead of everything else in this process. Kids are so adaptible, so long as you keep showering them with love they way we've been able to see throughout their lives so far, everything is going to be ok.

Thank you. I had so much shame that I ended up being divorced… I married young and I felt “stuck” because of religion and unfortunately I didn’t know it was DV until a friend, just anyone, finally acknowledged it for what it was. It means so much to see a KZbinr share the reality of life and especially when it comes to romantic relationships. You seemed to always have your shit together and it looked “perfect”, but seeing you share this painful, human side has grown my respect and admiration for you more than the “perfection” that was previously portrayed. I think the beauty of human connection isnt just merely for the “good, happy” moments, but more powerfully through the common experience and empathy in sharing suffering, pain, heartbreak, loss… and how resilient humans can be with a great support system. I dont know you, I’ve never met you, yet through this series I feel fucken SEEN. Thank you for your bravery in sharing what it means to be human and that the beauty of life lies in both the good bits and the broken, painful bits too 💕 Life is like a piano - you cant make music without the black keys too. Stay gold Chriselle, sending love from Australia xx

It's such a good feeling ...My parents could never. I am in the worst moments of my life, alone, in an other country, my fiancé got deported, and I have been feeling my lowest health wise, mental health is already as damaged as it can get.. but my parents still ask me if I have any money to send them and tell me how they can't come because the ticket is expensive... BUT SOMEHOW going to summer vacation, every year, like usual, in other cities in my country...they only think about themselves and put themselves first no matter what. You have the best parents, please take care of them, some of us, are not lucky enough 😢

I don’t know you but gosh this video brought me to tears. I’ve never gone through a divorce and I hope to never have to go through that.. but God bless your family and your village. Such a definition of unconditional love. Pray for your continued healing and continued support from your village. Hang in there.. I’m sure you already know but it’ll continue to get better. & as cliche as it seems.. I truly believe everything happens for a reason.

You are truly blessed to have such amazing parents and sister . When things get rough they become your rock and your hope for better days . Watching this video is inspiring to say the least. Always make sure that as your folks get older you’re there for them for all their needs . Best of luck girl , you’ll be in my prayers.
