Exactly he says “Come to me you filthy rags and I WILL MAKE YOU CLEAN” he didn’t say oh come to me you dirty rags and I will keep you dirty and you will stay dirty. You know why because our Sin our fleshly desires is where we truly die because it’s what separates us from God. So coming to God let him clean you up how you do that is by focusing on Him and putting your faith and trust in Him. That’s why He says to the woman Go and Sin no more, so that she can not continue to be that dirty rag and can be in heaven with Jesus. You know what I mean :)

You are not a weaker vessel. Men may be physically stronger, but men would be useless without women. Women are strong in their own sense and man is not above the woman or the other way around. We may have authority in decision making above women, but in value we are completely equal and in a certain way women are even more valuable than men, as we'd voluntarily die if it's for the sake of women and children.

The problem with loving people for who they are, is that people don't entirely know who they are
@SyoDraws
@SyoDraws Жыл бұрын
Just a thought: to love your neighbor as yourself seems to imply loving them in their current state, even if you want them to improve. If someone says, "i will love you when you get better," but the person does not get better, it causes them to violate "love your neighbor as yourself." So, we love our neighbor, as they currently are, in a like manner to how we love ourselves. What do you think? P.S. love, in this case, would involve a desire for the well-being of that person and _caring_ about that person, not a mere feeling.
@SemiOmni314
@SemiOmni314 Жыл бұрын
@@SyoDraws I'm not op, but loving someone isn't to "love them in their current state". Loving someone as yourself is desiring what is best for them. If someone you love is living a horrible lifestyle, if you truly love them, you try your best to get them out of it. If they have a bad habit, help them break out of it. If they keep pushing you away, as Matthew 10:14 says, it is best to just cut them off, take your leave. But if you still love the person, the best thing really is to pray. God works miracles after all.
@SyoDraws
@SyoDraws Жыл бұрын
@@SemiOmni314 @Mzaki Thanks for your polite response. I agree, but you are misunderstanding me. I mean to say that loving someone in their current state is not opposite to wanting the best for them. Here is an analogy to explain: A mother loves their baby, even when they can't walk yet. Even before they could do _anything_, the mother loved them (somewhat like God's love toward us). But of course, the mother doesn't want her child to remain babbling, unable to crawl or walk. She wants the child to _develop_ and _progress_ . However, she doesn't say, "Only when my baby says their first words will I begin to love them or take care of them." That would seem to be the opposite. Rather, she "loves them all the way through," to put it another way. So, loving someone in their current state does not mean a lack of concern about their character or development. In fact, it _includes_ that. If someone loves another person, but that person is in a really bad lifestyle, to love them "as they are" (if you wanna put it that way) is not to say, "Don't worry, you don't have to change a single thing about your life; you're perfect!" That's lying. Instead, loving someone as they are, in my opinion, is to (as you said) try to get them out of it and voice your concern. What do you think?

@@SyoDraws A lot of times caring for someone’s well being means calling them out for the self-destructive things they’re doing. If sin brings death, the loving thing to do is call them out of their sin and into Christ Jesus. If you don’t even do that, can you really say that you’re loving?

Having pain in childbirth, but what a lot of people forget is where he says that Adam will rule over her. 7:30 The expression, "weaker vessel", in 1 Peter3;7, refers to weakness in physical strength rather than suggesting a moral and spiritual inferiority. Husbands must be especially gentle with their wives, lest they use their physical bulk and strength to abuse, bully, or frighten them. My mother has a very serious issue with conflating disagreement with hate. It could be a very minor difference of opinion but she'll get mad anyway. For example, if she thinks you should wear yellow with your outfit, but you disagree and like black better, she gets mad. Yesterday she wanted my work to buy pull wagons for the housekeepers so they could walk to their RV's to clean them. When I explained that the house cleaners don't walk to the RV's, they drive vehicles or golf carts, she got mad and still wanted my work to buy wagons. She insisted that the employees are walking already, even though I told her they don't walk, they ride. For some reason she wants the employees to walk and do it with wagons. Anyways, if someone disagrees with her on anything, no matter how big or minor, she interprets it as a threat and I, for the life of me, can't understand why. What does it matter that someone decides to buy only one Polyurethane spray when it's buy one, get one half off? Why does it make her feel threatened when they say they only want to buy one?

I believe she’ll eventually see that mankind’s perspective and logic is flawed but God’s isn’t and that His words never change and that this is a good thing. And one day she will teach this to someone and forgive them of their misunderstandings and with conviction as God loves us crooked sticks and uses us to draw straight lines to help others find their way to Him and find out just how true John 14:6 actually is. Bless her heart as well as all of yours and praise the Lord 😄😃

Matt.10 Verses 34 to 39 [34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. [35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. [36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. [37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. [38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. [39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

10:54 Romans 12:2 do not be confirmed to the ways of this would but be TRANSFORMED by the renewal of your mind. (12:17 its said) Also for weaker vessel i think of children and how parents are supposed to protect them and care for them, so men are to do that also to their wives.
@harrygarris6921
@harrygarris6921 Жыл бұрын
The purpose of saying that the wife is the weaker vessel within a marriage is a call to action for the husband to respect and honor her, through self sacrificial love as Jesus demonstrated. It's not a verse to pump up your ego as a husband about how you're physically stronger than your wife. I've seen it applied that way and that's quite literally the opposite of what Peter is telling us to do.

As a woman if you get offended by that verse “being the weaker vessel” we really need to pray to humble ourselves and not be prideful in the bible it says God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. If you open your mind you will see there’s a bigger picture and there’s balance but our ego sometimes will stop us from getting the whole picture and understanding what it really means. If we want to be just like man where is the limit? Then we will want to be like God too?

The funny thing is, Jesus spent a lot of his time among Sinners. He openly broke bread with them, which was considered taboo, or at the least unclean, in Jewish culture. Tax collectors, prostitutes, thieves, and so on. Jesus wasn't the one who walked away changed. They walked away changed. Jesus is God. Unchanging. Immovable.

The bible is not a book about good people doing good things. There are a few people who are mostly righteous, only one who can be described as perfection, but for the vast majority of the bible, it is about failures. The individuals who are normal average joe's, the Prophets, the villains, mostly at one point or another, failures. God is the only hero of the story, where he comes in, liberates his people and brings justice to his enemies. However, for further context of the time of our Lord and Savior, the Jews had a recent history of being not so good people. The Maccabean revolt is largely contributed to Hellenized Jews who slowly merged Greek mythology with their worship, shortly before Jesus was born an order was given to kill a bunch of kids in an attempt to kill baby Jesus, Jesus grew up and was teacher under brutal Roman rule (hence the crucifixion) and after his death the Jews would revolt several times, all spectacular, painful failures for the Jewish people. Not once did Jesus conform to the times. Jesus Christ does not "get with the times", he tells us how to buck the "current year", he tells us why we should and he has shown us why it is good. He wouldn't be down with abortion or homosexuality or the mutilation of children for the sake of vanity, he wouldn't be for women prostituting themselves on the internet or irresponsible baby daddies or premarital sex or divorce or war. Jesus Christ does not conform, he sets the standard and you make the effort to be there with him

God to humans: “Sorry everyone. I messed up. You know that part in the Bible that talks about the roles on men and women? That is not relevant anymore. Go ahead and rip that out. I should have seen this coming. I had like an infinite amount of time to think about the 2 different roles. Guess I over thought it. You know how it goes?! Creating the planets one day, creating people another day, messing up on writing the Bible the next. Just too much going on at once. Jesus was down there hangin out with all of you. Guess he got the wrong impression. Like father like son lol. Anyway, if you have any other suggestions about what else you’d like to fix, let me know. I’ll pretend like I don’t know what you’re gonna say haha. What’s that? You do have another suggestion? more than 2 genders?! lol good one!…oh wait, you’re serious?!”

It's strange that she got defensive over this whereas I personally think it's really nice how Peter tells the husbands to honour their wives as the weaker vessel. He's speaking biologically and says that the husbands should treat their wives with respect, and take good care of her because he is the more powerful one

God is parent, your parent. As a parent, you love, care, and want what is best for your child. So as a parent you want your child to be the best person possible. So if they do something bad, a parent will correct them, it doesn’t mean the parent doesn’t love their child, instead it means that the parent cares for them and wants what best. Just because your child is your child doesn’t mean you accept every action your child does. Same way with God. He wants what is best for you and won’t accept every action/behaviour.

Thank you for speaking up on this. That girl is creating her own god in her head who is easy and doesn’t care about progression - this is not the God that the majority of Christianity believes in or that the Bible teaches of. Come as you are - yes - but don’t intend to stay as you are. Jesus’ gospel is meant to improve us and make us seek to be better.

1:43 and that is idolatry. We've all at some point in life have done this. The bible says not to worship other Gods. Most people make this mistake and break other commandants. When Jesus came to the cross and said it is finished he paid our debts. There is nothing we can do other than to ask Jesus for forgiveness and mean it and repent meaning we obey gods word. His grace and mercy are gifts from him and so long as we believe Jesus and trust in all things we get to live with him forever. He is so amazing. Praise Jesus for saving us.
