Make up TikToks are useless to me. The things I need explained if I’m going to buy or use a technique: like various ways of applying and (the biggest) what it looks like after hours of wear are not covered. Also under blushing and under contouring is an old technique. Jackie Aina did a much less extreme version of this years ago that I actually use. It’s pretty forgiving. But Jackie also did a thorough explanation of this technique in a longer video.

I'm someone who underpaints with blush and also applies extra blush on some of my makeup looks and it's not supposed to look that pink. I apply a lot of blush but not to the point it spreads to my whole face, I don't believe she goes out like that because If I did that people would def notice that I was pinker than usual. As someone who is working hard to get my small business and my off-grid lifestyle out on social media, this is disheartening but also intriguing. I try hard to be my authentic self, and if I post something slightly shocking, it's still something I truly believe or resonate with. It can be so discouraging to work hard on coming up with ideas, filming, editing, etc., and get 300 views on tiktok, and knowing if I was being obnoxious, over the top, fake, and tapped into the over spending over-consumption aspect of our society, I would likely have much more success.

Crazy how influencers think that being fake is the way to go. Like come on. People will see right through that and just will call you out on it. Like just be honest and real. But apparently being fake is the only way to get peoples attention.
