Conclusion:
Samuel Schmucker was influenced by a number of different artists and art movements. Despite all of those influences, he developed and perfected his own unique, distinctive style. It is regrettable that he is virtually unknown outside the postcard hobby. We believe his artwork is of the very highest quality and that he deserves to be recognized as an important American artist from the early 20th century.
