INFO: Bayonetta 3 remaster is Immintent. A definitive edition of Bayonetta 3 will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 based on evidence and signs pointing to that happening. Improved graphics, performance, voice acting, dialogue, and more will likely be implemented as well as new story segments, new chapters, new outfits and unlockables, playable Jeanne, hidden chapters, etc... Bayonetta Origins fixed many story elements, while Bayonetta 3 had the worst story in the series thanks to rushed development, voice acting disputes with hellena taylor and jennifer hale. Conversely, Bayonetta 3 was the best in the series for gameplay and spectacle, so the game remained high quality even on Nintendo Switch.

I still want the exclusive costume like the developers did for one and two. Metroid Suit , Princess 👑 Peach, Princess Sarsameda, Link Tunic and Master sword , Starfox Costume, and hoping to get surprise on a custom added, I also remember seeing Chomp Chomp as an accessorie that attacks.

For the story, we do know they did rework it as Viola got a bigger role, which is definitely why she doesnt seem to have been gotten any progression, its cuz she wasnt meant to be playable before. But for anything id expect of a port/remaster(as we all know theyll do it) Consistent framerate, every character playable in any chapter(except Viola as i dont see them expanding her moveset to allow her to be playable in bayos chapters). Extra characters like Rosa(i thought she was gonna be playable tbh), Extra costumes for Jeanne and Viola(maybe demons too? Like why does Madama butterfly not change to her old model when using SF/LiB?). A trinity fuse accessory like in the final chapter, its a cool effect why not let us use it everywhere? Some extra chapters since we know they scrapped atleast 2 story chapters, a new playable monster wave mode/Angel Slayer cuz we REALLY need a mode in Bayo3 that lets us use this combat to its fullest potential. And honestly the last thing i can think of is the Bayomaker that was scrapped, id enjoy a more detailed Customization as it was initially meant to be. We all know this game changed TONS not just from its concepts, but also its first gameplay trailer, the game had better graphics, more enemies on screen, better voiceacting etcetc, id love to see Bayo3 shine as it was supposed to.

I would absolutely love to see all this implemented and love to see other reworks as well but I know that's asking more than what PlatinumGames probably cares to do. As for the graphics I want a full Tomb Raider Definitive Edition treatment where they just make entirely new, more detailed models and improve cinematics, etc

But anything extra like an actual Angelslayer/monster wave, definitely just wishful thinking, but who knows, if they do a full remaster and not just a port maybe we would get more than we'd think.

if theres some things that i really want is the inclusion of former characters and let them "debut" in b3 - from King Little Zero all the way up to Rodin and Jeanne ( each having their own respective chapters ). With B1 + 2 said to actually make their storylines in the main story, this should be covered in the NG+.

The high poly models most likely have nothing to do with a possible remaster. The high poly models are made to bake a normal-map etc. onto the low poly model to give it more detail without stressing the hardware. Common practice in game development

With a sequel to the switch probably coming in a year or so, we’ll be getting a hardware upgrade. I’m hoping for something like persona 5 royale, with improvements/polish/additions where needed

So Jennifer Hale had to rush voicing Cereza. 🤔 Some of her lines are so good i find myself randomly quoting them in daily life with the same intonation and accent, but some sound really bad. I'm British and my grandmother actually talks quite a bit like Cereza, so when somebody is faking the accent, it can feel awkward when they get it wrong. But she did some bits great! Hopefully she'll be better in the next one without such a rush, or they get a new British actress. Angeli Wall was amazing in Bayonetta Origins!

Great video! You summarized bayo 3's problems very efficiently! I don't want just a remaster, I want the game to be remade! The luka and bayonetta romance came out of nowhere and felt completely out of place. The enemy design was severely lacking. All enemies had the same color palette which made them boring.

The fact that they have higher quality models tells me that they're definitely remastering it, or at least putting it on whatever next Nintendo hardware there is. I doubt they'll redo the voice work for bayo but I hope they fix the animations and particularly fix bayos fave model, it looks so bad in comparison to 1 and 2. I wonder if they'll add raytracing since the rumours are that Nvdia is doing the "switch 2" chip itll probably have dlss and maybe ray tracing. I don't think they'll actually change the story in any meaningful way, but since Kamiya left PG they might. But lets just hope that for Bayo 4 we get actul writers who know how to write a story with an actul cohesive narrative.

if they do add bonus chapters, I hope they're about the variants and what they were doing before and during the humoculi invasion. Like Tokyo bayonettas bowling match with Jeanne and seeing her die, Chinese Bayonetta becoming the general and when she didn't have access to her train demon (maybe the variants chapters would be demon free chapters since brave cereza has their demons), what Egypt Bayonetta was doing before fighting and finding Jeanne and French Bayonetta during a heist and what she did when she was separated from rosa and saw her die

I’d rather they rework the story bc it doesn’t make any sense & doesn’t connect to what happened in the first 2. Like there was no build up, no foreshadowing, no hints, nothing. The first two connected into each other and Bayo 3 just felt out of nowhere y’know? There are so many questions that the first 2 didn’t answer and then Bayo 3 slapped on so many more unnecessarily.

Where's the evidence I doubt we will get a remaster and I HIGHLY DOUBT platinum will fix the issues that this game has if they ever make a remaster it will most likely be bayonetta 3 but with better graphics maybe they fix in game bugs but that's it they will never add new cutscenes or story segments it would be a remake or not a remaster "in a way kindof" we will see what PG is going to do it would be nice if they make a remaster and release some DLC with it but I highly doubt , im keeping my expectations low for this series, not gonna lie I do feel bad for PG this game went through hell in development and thats why this game is the way it is

I hope they give Viola some flashback cutscenes about her childhood and how she formed a bond between her and Cheshire because she deserves that. Every time I play through 3 I find myself trying my best to like her when in actuality she just gets carried by Cheshire character wise. As for the ending I don’t actually mind if bayo dies as long as it’s conveyed in a plausible and emotional way. But I do hope they confirm Jeanne is still alive and trains viola in the ways of an umbran witch. Kind of like an auntie to her. Oh and maybe in a spin off game (sort of like origins) they could do a rescue mission for Cereza

Good catch! Some cutscenes even use higher poly models than the others, but most use some of the lowest quality ones. You can tell they wanted this game to look better. ... also, that awful dithering needs to GO lol. You can see late in this video the footage PlatinumGames used in their developer diares has no dithering and more anti aliasing and looks so much better

Thank you for this video. Personally, I think game really needs 3 or 4 additional chapters, because it feels a little rushed and unfinished (probably due to switch platform limitations). But i honestly love story and ending because as I see it, Hideki Kamiya really loves this character and wanted the best for her. In the end, Cereza is not dead, she is not in "weak soul" form and have an ally on her side, that means she avoided fate of every Umbra Witch - being wandering and tortured in Inferno. And hey, she found her love, some people hate it, but if she's happy, I'm happy for her too. So I hope they won't retcon anything of that to please some fans that don't like it, because "fans" are not a hive mind, and developers can't make it appealing to everyone. But i can understand those who dissappointed, I really liked the first game, and was very upset with the second, it's bad for me, but i don't want to erase it from existence. Btw, not for a second i believe that Viola will be next main character. She can keep her family name, but this is Cereza's game series.

If we're lucky, the remastered Bayonetta 3 will get the reworked 3rd & 4th side chapters that actually play like the first two, Showering, Answering Nature's Call & all. If we're more than lucky, it will actually give us a main 15th chapter where Viola avenges her mother & defeats Singularity once & for all along with a 5th side chapter that not only plays as the first two, but especially serves as the game's alternate ending.

tbh need to recon the entire story at the very least. I really hate the multiverse trope since its so overused and its hard to do well, personally they can keep all the models for singulitry just make them aliens or something trying to take over earth/paradiso/inferno. that can allow some cool uses of the angels and demon enemies from the first two games. maybe in hell she can collect the different weapons and demons to work together to save the realms. Maybe giving access to paradiso, they can give players playable lumen sages? (i think it would be cool) I would split the story into maybe a couple main parts, 1. Collecting allies from inferno + saving inferno from enemies (access to new skins and weapons) 2. rediscovery of the right eye (i know it was destroyed but i think it will make a reason to go to paradiso), I think right eye should be held a luman sage hidden in paradiso or something (Maybe balder was horny and had a secret kid). 3. Bring eyes together, save the world Im obviously not the biggest fan of viola, but since her character is already designed they can use her as balder's secret kid or sm. Im not a fan or not like other girls characters so i think it would be cool if she starts out as a woman who hates femininity but slowly is empowered by femininity. I think it would fit in with the cunty girlboss nature of bayo itself

4:19 the term 'billboard' refers to a shader effect in which textures always face the camera. I think you meant that Bayo's model displays a lower LOD during regular gameplay. As well as this, the high poly models you refer to later for enemies are part of the typical dev process in which high poly sculpts are made, which then have their information baked onto lower poly models for use in game engine. Its unlikely these higher poly models are fit for use in game at all.

I dont want to trash the idea of a remaster or being on different platforms but I would really advise no one get there hopes to high in that regard. another note on the Dev Diary game footage running smoother, they could be running a game build on different hardware to achieve that and I dont think it's that good of a sign really. This was a really entertaining video that explained a few issues I had with Bayonetta 3, even with the fun I had during gameplay. A remaster would be a good step. While of course I rarely expect a deep story in action driven games, Bayonetta always had a lot more underneath what it showed. If there were 3 things I would wish from Platinum games for a remaster or even a remake: 1. Review the story again. Viola's introduction to the story as the next protagonist was sudden and very incomplete. I feel that a large part of the problem with Viola is not only making Luka a romantic partner to Bayo 3, but giving him such a huge role in the narrative. While I always enjoyed the idea of Jeanne and Bayo being soulmates, as very evident by the amount of official artwork posted of the two, Luka's new role came very sudden when in the past 2 games was more like a toy for a cat. As Loki said back then, a pervert who would oogle her and then have his mind go blank, yet still be a very dependable friend who'd do what he could to help Bayonetta, despite being just a normal human. If they still want to stay with that story, they will need to do some explaining, because as it is, Luka feels like a brick wall you slammed against. That in turn really hurt Viola's character. 2. Make Jeanne playable again. I am one of those who were really unhappy about the inability to play Jeanne in regular missions. At the very least in those of Bayonetta. She has always been that one secret character to unlock with a few mechanics to make her different. It is quite sad not to be able to play as her aside from the missions she was degraded to. 3. Brush up on the graphics. I never have high expectations graphically for any game. I care less about graphics than I do good gameplay and a thrilling narrative. That doesn't mean though that I do not appreciate it when a company puts in the work. While Bayonetta is no Ghost of Tsushima, 1 and 2 had some stunning visuals at times when you had a good look at the surroundings. Bayonetta 3 does feel off and it is definitely because of the initial plan for open world and the Switch's capabilities. With Hideki Kamiya officially being done with Platinum Games, who knows what will happen to Bayonetta now. All we can do now is wait and see.

What is meant with Bayonetta's character model being billboarded? Traditionally the term billboarding is used in gaming to refer to a flat mesh with a texture that always faces the camera. I don't understand how a character model would be billboarded.

No one actually knows, but what we do know is that they do port these games to whatever new nintendo consoles out, so we can atleast expect a port sometime down the line whenever a Switch2 releases and it isnt backwards compatible. A lot of rumors state that certain games will get updates thatll check if its a Switch2 or not, and if it checks for yes, then the game would use the better hardware to provide better framerate, graphics etc. A full on remaster of the game tho who actually knows.

Idk, I know Jennifer is doing her best but Bayonetta really is that kind of voice that needn't a voice change until the VA was actually say "dead". Her voice is too iconic for me which is why i still love Bayo 2 more. Iconic to her voice, personality and is more mature than Bayo 1, meaning smarter as they say than Bayo 3. And I dont care about this whole BS about how Bayo 3 Cereza isnt the same as Bayo 1 and 2, thats really no excuse to me. Hellena was still being absolutely selfish about this whole thing and it really hurt the series and the development. So a remaster, if possible is coming that would make the game better, fine, but if the voice is still Jennifer's, Im not really gonna be roped in the game as much as before. Im not saying im Defending what Hellena did, im saying Hellena needs to get off her ass from bloody high horse and just do what she really was good as doing for this series.

@@johtojonny yeah, and like i said, i like it in concept, but it didn't translate well to the game. that reminds me of how viola looks way better in the concept art, in the mary shimazaki art style. honestly, we need more of mari's prospective in bayonetta, the shojo-ness makes so much sense

Your summary is really good! For me I enjoyed the game but while I enjoyed the story, I think I also was pulled in the hype to not be able to see much of the inconsistencies or what other fans considered not great If Bayo 3 gets a remastered I hope we do get more chapters and such like about the worlds, characters and maybe including seeing Bayo 1&2 a bit earlier too! Of course I like the idea that in the final battle Bayo 3 was able to release the souls of her alternate copies and others that were deemed the “arch eve” and the two remaining come to her aid in the final showdown but I now kinda hoped they got a tiny bit more time to establish the comradery and connections relating of the 2 with 3

I wanna see all of that too! I don't even think Arch Cereza is dead either now tho cuz of Luka doing summ to her when the hands were trying to drag her down. My guess is they went to the spirit realm so I wonder if she'll just get revived in a different era or something and Viola is just keeping things up for her in the meantime

I never consider that idea :0! the idea they would be revived in another era would add a lot of interest into what they be up to after the events of the world near destruction :0 After the remake I am excited for how they’ll direct the possible continuation to Bayo because it very interesting on how they would evolve Viola/every other character and thinking about Luka and Cereza’s situation Small comment ramble but I came up thinking Cereza and Luka may be in a limbo of sorts and Viola as the current title holder of Bayonetta is waiting for a moment to help them get out of there when the time comes. If anything I also hope we may get to see old and new characters come indefinitely Especially getting a possibility Loki returning and maybe we get to see Enzo’s kids a bit older cause We get them mentioned all the time but never fully see them so it be amazing to include more interesting gags while having that experience of seriousness in there!
