We were allegedly supposed to have a more detailed customization feature for Bayonetta 3 along with a myriad of concepts that would’ve had amazing potential!
Over 7 hours ago, Twitter users by the name of Rikan and LiKovacs uncovered what seems to be unused, temporary, or early concept designs for Bayonetta 3.
I knew of Rikan from their involvement in digging into unused content for Bayonetta 2 where I read that the Gatling gun was originally meant to be included.
I believe Rikan is to credit for all that’s gone into this wiki but if there are any more collaborators out there I missed, let me know in the comments below.
Currently, there are still a TON of cool concepts but I’m going to go over what caught my attention the most, starting with these beautiful screenshots of what looks like early development gameplay with the player being in Ginungagap, Egypt, Tokyo - I didn’t find these on the wiki page, so please take these with a grain of salt until someone in the comments provides a source for it!
Just an important note that most of these are likely placeholder files before they went in and coded the proper ones, all you graphic designers and people in tech know what I’m talking about.
However there are some lines that were allegedly supposed to be included in the final cut so make sure to stay til the end.
These early screenshots really accentuate Brave Cereza’s braids much more than when they were tied into a bow, but I don’t know if it’s just me but the overworld aesthetic really brings back the vibe of Bayonetta 1 and 2 so much more than Bayonetta 3, well of course they reused a lot of the files but it was just a nice glimpse into how they could’ve kept it.

The BayoMaker is what I believe is the most popular feature in this data mine and I am praying that this is going to be patched into the game in the future. But according the the concepts, we we’re about to have the option of customising Cereza Head, Body or more accurately what I think is the Torso, Hands, Feet, Skin colour, and shirt, much more advanced than the one we currently have.
It’s not as intricate as Code Vein’s obviously but being able to mix and match the outfits between the variants would be a great start!
But here we go with the original chapter names, with the side chapter names being the most interesting. Agent J, Agent J Strikes, Agent J’s Peril, and Agen’t J’s Escape really emphasising Jeanne’s own story path with these names. But you have an extra chapter name called Agent J’s Last Stand which could’ve a chapter in it’s own as us playing as Jeanne against Sigurd before he literally stabs her in the back.
It would’ve been cool to have Jeanne more involved well, when she was alive in that moment where we find out Sigurd double crossed us, something where she knew all along, with Sigurd potentially performing illusions on her about her dead mother or her biggest weaknesses which really shows how resilient Jeanne would be, THEN she get’s stabbed..

I'm still Salty about Queen Sheba not being in the game considering this seemed like the time to summon her. Either the theree bayos could summon her or bayonetta and Viola. This could also be a lesson for viola since it seems like she doesn't yet know how to summon demons with her hair.

( unless I missed that part being explained ) But she can summon him, again just not in a more traditional way like other Umbran Witches. Plus you can't rule out the fact that since she's part fairy, it may have something to do with the way she summons. We don't know ALL of Viola's background and story, right now, anything goes really.

That's why I said why I said, " unless I missed that part being explained ", meaning both in dialog or written out. I'm saying it in so many forms and ways, it's funny that nobodies really catching what I'm saying. I like Cereza with 2 braids. It doesn’t feel like she’s too young but still keeps her originality. The outfit in 3 looks so stupid and goofy to me, since she just has 2 random ponytails sticking off the back, and really deletes her sexiness.

Btw rakunx , i recently quoted both platinum games and Jeanne's VA ( Greydelisle) on one of my tweets,asking platinum if they're working on a Jeanne spin off game or DLC in which we play as Jeanne or Cutie j emphasizing the fact that we love Jeanne's VA/ the character and would love to see her get more of a spotlight, Jeanne's VA proceeded to like set tweet , i don't know if this confirms that we'll get a Jeanne dlc or game but it does confirm that Grey is down for it hope this is helpful.

French Bayonetta is probably my least liked one because i just HATED her design, when you put it on cereza its even worse because the hat and cape arent even a part of it! I wish they had fleshed out the variants more because when they were all offed it felt like nothing,(beside egyptian bayo)

My ideal/perfect Bayonetta story: Bayonetta 1 and Bayonetta 2 are the same person - Bayonetta 1 is the story of Bayonetta remembering who she is, and Brave Cereza from a different timeline is still plucked from her timeline and inserted into Our Bayonetta’s story. Bayonetta 2 is a continuation of Bayonetta 1 and is simply a continuation of her story. Bayonetta 3 - still follows Our Bayonetta. It can still involve the multiverse/timeline hopping stuff but the voice she is hearing in the beginning is Brave Cereza in her own timeline (all grown up and looking similar to Our Bayonetta, just with her own unique style) calling to Our Bayonetta for help as her world is in the process of being destroyed. The last timeline we visit is Brave Cerezas, in which we see Our Bayonetta and Brave Cereza from the first game together again. Our Bayonetta fights to save Brave Cereza and we get to see them fight together. For an ending - if they still wanted a tragedy in the story, Our Bayonetta can be fatally hurt and in her dying breaths, she bestows her legacy and blessing onto Brave Cereza. That way, at least Bayonetta “dying” and her legacy being passed on isn’t to some new character… It would leave the door open for them to continue with more games with Bayonetta (Brave Cereza) as the protagonist or end it there. I never comment on anything on KZbin but Bayonetta and your channel means so much to me ❤ I watch all your vids and appreciate you being so passionate about this character

The Enzo lines in Chapter 2 still exist in game. If you look at the big monitor in the first area for a bit it will turn on "MC Enzos show", which features Rodin as a guest. Those four lines are the four lines he says on the show.

Cut content is fun to sift through, but I feel like it kind of has a negative effect. Most of the time everyone's saying things like "I wish this was in there!" or "Why did they cut this out!?" which kinda seems like it's taking away from all the hard work the devs put in to get the stuff that's actually in there completed. Game development is a long, difficult process and we all know that P* try to cram in as much content as they can. So let's make sure we don't get too carried away with what wasn't and remember to love what is. :)

*Forgot a super customization for Bayonetta, can we talk about why couldn’t we customize mixing our weapons up on our hands and feet? Like who’s dumb idea was that? They killed any weapon combo potential by holding it back like they did in this game when that was Bayonetta niche since Bayo 1 and 2 and made her so unique to play with….this game was just too demon focused on giving us some humanoid transformations with our weapons instead of letting you say hold the fan weapon in your hands while having the yo-yo weapon on your feet*

Honestly, as much as I do like the game, the overall package just felt like it was missing things. I'll go into my opinions of those now from smallest to biggest. 1) The Bayo 1 and 2 costumes don't retract when you're using demonslave, the demon parry, or wink weave. Like, c'mon that was a feature in bayonetta 2. How don't they retract in *this* game? I also wish the guns weren't tied to having save data from the first two games on switch cause that fucks over Wii U users but, eh, money. 2) You can't play as characters during chapters that are not their default chapters with the exception of extra chapters. It legitimately felt like freedom the previous games had just couldn't or wouldn't be implemented in the game. You could just have pre-rendered cutscenes with the correct characters if you needed it and remove walking dialog. You can't play as Juanne during the main missions. *Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.* 3) The story really was missing a lot of clarity and just... general references to the previous history of the bayonetta games. Even in the lore files there weren't that many references to the previous games outside of the purely explicit ones. It felt like fanfiction in that way. This doesn't feel like a Bayonetta story. Even when Bayonetta struggled in the first two games it *felt* like she was herself till the end. There are times she just didn't feel like Bayonetta in this story like when she interacted with her past selves and during her final stand. I understand its supposed to emphasize that "things are getting serious this time." But.... honestly... the stakes just felt the same and she just didnt seem to act like herself. The bayonettas of shibuya, china, and france all felt like truer interpretations of Bayonetta's character than this one did. I dunno, it just feels... lacking. The game really needed better planning and more time to implement the plant. I understand the game took for-*ever* to come out and I'm glad it released at all in a state that's still fun to play. It just needs... more. I hope Nintendo approves Platinum releasing DLC for the game rather than Platinum just moving onto their next project.

If bayonetta 4 doesn't have fairies as the next new threat/enemy type, idk what it will. Would be cool tho, since now we see them as typical fairies & a werewolf, so perhaps they will draw from fairytales, giving enemies like gnomes, syrens, dragons etc. Lumen sages do need to return tho... and an explanation of wtf are fairies doing in the bayonetta universe & how do they fit with lumen sages / umbran witches!!!! Annnd wouldn't mind if hummonculis only returned like how angels did in this game. Honestly was neat to have them at least but angels/demons did NOTHING in this game really. It was always an interesting dynamic having two opposite powers actually try & INFLUENCE what is happening and react to what bayonetta does etc....

TBH I don't feel like Bayonetta really needs character customization or anything like that, it just doesn't strike me as the kind of game that needs that. The couture bullets are fine as full model swaps, but I feel like even the color changing stuff was unnecessary. Bayonetta has her own distinct style and look. I am a bit upset that we didn't get to play the other Bayonettas more though. Maybe have each universe's opening chapter be us playing as that universe's Bayonetta to introduce that universe, then a mini-chapter of us playing as Viola, then the other two chapters be us as Bayo3 in that universe, then the Jeanne intermission chapter. Also never going to let up on wanting to have variants of a Lumen Bayonetta and a male Bayonetta.

Ay, so I know you do mostly theories and uncoverings, but would you want to undertake the metaphysics of the Bayonetta series in total? There's surprisingly a lot of norse mythos involved with Bayonetta, which came into light in Bayonetta 2 directly, and has taken more of a backseat in Bayonetta 3. Obviously all the -heims are Norse, but Ginnagagap is where the void where the worlds were created, which makes sense with all the multiverse worlds in the realm of chaos. Fimbulventr was ALSO the prelude to Ragnarök, obviously... Bayonetta 3 was our Ragnarök. It also could explain luka's name in itself, which means close. Obviously meaning his relationship with Bayonetta.

It comes from Bayo1 as Bayonetta raised her past self and taught her to be brave, which changed the timeline, and thus fans refer to the Bayonetta of the third game Brave Cereza

I'm on chapter 6 and unfortunately this sucks. The game is so boring they changed way too much and ruined all of the characters. Viola being nothing but a stereotype is the worst of all. They failed to strike a balance between spectacle and engagement and the result is unintesting. 2 is one of my favourite games ever and I can't believe they followed it up with this

This is my opinion: After the long wait and then the added drama with Hellena, platinum missed so many opportunities with this story and gameplay. The fact there was no grand summoning with the three bayonettas is completely bonkers to me. The multiverse story was so generic and rushed they could have made it more interseting with higher consequences and truley alternatuve versions of Bayonetta (such as Lumen witches). Viola is wack imo and has the worst gameplay. Jeanne not being available for story mode sucks (along with her outfit). The game lacks graphical polish regarding frame rate and models. The only positives from this game are demon slave, demon masquerade, the fact we travel to different worlds and the new cool weapons. Its a fun game to play but the overall story is what dissapoints me. It kinda seperates itself from the franchise and seems watered down. Hopefully the 4th installment really raises the bar.

Its definitely an undercooked mess, from downgraded graphics to unstable framerate, the little costumes there is are shite, but at least we have a ton of pointless colour variations..and the whole semi open world idea needs to be scrapped asap, linerer bayonetta was fine as is, what also needs to go is the whole monster summons, terrible addition to the game. Take note to the combat in DMC, it never changed, only improved.

I'd love to see Rodin used more in the story and gameplay. Perhaps a boss rush esq mode? Maybe his chapters revolves around him traveling to inferno and elsewhere to create the weapons bayonetta and potentially other customers use. Here's food for thought. What if we've never actually seen Rodin completely let loose? What if in every duel, or moment in the story that we fight alongside or against him he's actually holding back for one reason or another? If he is holding back, perhaps the reasoning is simply that he wants to have a little fun? Let's go off into crazy theory land for a second here, what if the Rodin we see is not his real self? In the devil duels he has wicked weave esq massive punches. What if the real rodin is actually sealed away somewhere within inferno or Paradiso? And what we see and interact with is like an Astral projection of sorts? Okay, that might be a stretch. Anyway, I just feel like Rodin has sooooo much potential for both story and gameplay reasons. Like, yeah he's got a bunch of lore entries but all in all when talking about the story of each game, he usually shows up in the opening and then is reduced to "guy who gives exposition at convenient times"

The more if this sort of stuff we see the more I feel like the had to cut stuff for time/budget. I know they it had a long dev time but with the stuff about the open world stuff that was scrapped and all it makes me wonder if they scrapped and restarted a few times and ultimately they HAD to make the release date and all had to scrap some elements to make the date? Could be interesting if it does well enough of that end up doing like a definitive edition and/or DLC that adds some of this stuff back in.

Too be honest I feel like this games true potential was low-key "ruined" because it's on the Switch each time I see that prototype picture of her in the city, I'm like damn that would be so beautiful on a different system... No surprise that all the good ideas were cut, seems to be a very common thing these days, would have been nice to play as Rodin and Jeanne in their own respective chapters.
