This video gives me hope to take my IR camera out at night! As someone who loves long exposure urban cities at night, the thumbnail absolutely hooked me. Thank you so much!

Excellent video - only just taken the plunge with IR.....always liked the images I've seen so I purchased an R72 by Hoya to have a try out!!! I only got it late summer so only a few shots because I thought IR was only a viable choice in bright sunlight!! This video has shown I have been missing my way!! Thank you for your informative videos

I was hoping to find a video about what happens if you mount a IR light to a camera with a narrower lens aperture and if it helps you get better nighttime photography from that lens. Could someone answer that?

This is totally another world, what parameters would be used in a night with a full spectrum camera? Thank you!!!
@robshea Жыл бұрын
I would keep a low to moderate ISO, 800 or less, and aperture of ƒ/2.8 to ƒ/4. This will result in longer shutter speeds and the need for a tripod.

Hi Rob, Good video. Hope you are doing well. I happened to notice you were shooting with a GFX 50s. Curious to know who did the conversion for you? Thanks for the info. JR

The conversion on my GFX 50S was done by LifePixel. 590.red/lp

Thanks for all the IR content... If I bought a converted Lumix G1 with a 850nm sensor, would I be able to do any of these colour edits? Or will everything shot only be in black and white? Thank you in advance!
@robsheaАй бұрын
An 850 nm filter will only capture infrared light, no color visible light, so the resulting image will be monochrome. You won’t be able to capture color, but you could add color with color grading.
@bowieknifeАй бұрын
@@robshea Thank you for your quick response! I see... I guess it'll be hard to get those dusky blue skies and reddish/pink trees then with just colour grading when using 850nm. But I'll still give it a go. Thanks again. :)
@robsheaАй бұрын
@@bowieknife True, but it can give your monochrome images some style.

KZbin automatically generates subtitles for videos. Unfortunately, it takes a few days for the subtitles to appear.

A fellow GFX shooter. Nice. What filter do you advice?
@robshea Жыл бұрын
I like a 590 nm filter for shooting at night and it’s my general purpose “go to” filter for shooting in daylight. When I’m looking for a more subtle, subdued color, I shoot a 720 nm filter.
