The infraspinatus does not perform extension or adduction of the shoulder (or at least I can't find research papers to evidence this). Its actions are: external rotation of the arm & stabilisation of the humerus in glenohumeral joint. Apologies for the error, this was my first video and the book I checked the actions against was not reliable. Nowadays every one of my videos is cross referenced to published research journals. If there isn't a scientific study published PROVING the action, it doesn't make it into the video! I will definitely be redoing this video at some point. In the meantime, check out my latest rotator cuff video and you will see how far I have come in my video quality: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp-0f2mfoKemprM

One of the best explanations! Thank you very much! 😊 I’m really bad with origens and insertions.😩

Thank you for the nice comment. I really struggled learning anatomy too at first too. Keep going and it will click into place eventually. I've got some flashcards on my website too if you need help memorizing any origins/insertions. Flashcards are a game changer for memorizing stuff.

Hello. Thank You Sir for the lesson you taught me. "I Need Help." I had an ulnar nerve transposition and an external fixator, (locked/unlocked) applied to my chronic dislocated elbow In 1998. I had to rebuild my entire right arm and wait a year for the numbness I'm my ring finger and pinky to fade away, on which it did; however,, "What the.... is this now?" My scapula kicked my ... fast and hard and stabbing. And stabbing, and stabbing! The pain is, and always had been exactly In my infraspinatus . Even today, doctor point elsewhere. Do you know why I must live with this? Can you please help somehow? If I point to the area, even on the doctor's scapula, nothing makes sense and if they press on my scapula I can scream and cry immediately. Now they sparked it and the stabbing begins. I'm not a crybaby, I have to have something fixed before I get sent to physical therapy. I hope you understand. Any words you can advise, I would be Blessed. Thank You for caring to read my painful life. I really mean it. God Bless You.
