My first Priest show Iron Maiden opened and played a long set. It was about 10:30pm when Priest was supposed to go on, but the power in the venue went out. We waited a long time before the power came back on and actually thought they were going to have cancel Priest because it was so late. Nope. The power finally came back on and Priest took the stage. Their first song was Livin' After Midnight which they usually did as an encore because it was a big hit. My friend turned to me and showed me his watch, it was just after midnight. Check out Livin' After Midnight it's a great song.

Fantastic reaction as usual Amariss. 😁 You really brighten my day just by showing up. If you liked this one than you just must react to a song called Painkiller. There Rob is insane. Another band you should react to is Helloween,a group from Germany. The United Live version from 2017 of the song Keeper of the seven keys should make you dance and scream. Hugs from your Viking in Sweden..... 😈😈😈

@@AmarissNevae Im grown up on these bands that you just started to listen to. So in my opinion Iron Maiden and Helloween are on another level.First Iron Maiden song i ever heard was a song called The Trooper. And i can promise you that it shooked my world as a teenager. And Helloween...they just are Helloween. The singer Michael Kiske is a fav of mine. So if you wanna know more Heavy metal songs from the best era in my opinion just write. You should check out a band called Manowar to. And there song Warriors of the world united. the live official version you can find here on KZbin.

I always recommend "Rock Hard, Ride Free". 80's. Never see that one mentioned by die hard fans, for some reason. But for everyone else. Easy to listen to. "Desert Planes" is good too. And his version of "Johnny B Goode". And several others.

Judas Priest's video concept for 'Breaking the law'... was robbing a bank w/ guitars instead of guns and stealing gold records instead on money... As it turned out, their 6th album 'British Steel' in 1980 became the band's first gold-selling record. The album' s other big singles were - 'Living after midnight'... and 'United'... Other songs worth checking out - 'The Hellion/ Electric Eye' ... 'Painkiller' ... 'Heading out to the highway' ... 'Love bites'... 'Victim of changes'... Back in the 70's, Judas Priest changed the game in heavy metal music... Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin made rock music 'heavy'... Deep Purple made it unpredictable... and then, Judas Priest introduced fast tempos... Shredding guitars... double bass drumming and an image w/ leather-and-studs outfits that defined the metal genre. Their lyrics were more rebellious and defiant than other bands of their genre.. they would write songs about majestic fictional figures and themes of victorious ideals. The line-up since 1974 was: Rob Halford (vocals), K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton (guitars) and Ian Hill (bass)... they went through numerous drummers - Les Binks (from 1977 to 1979)... Dave Holland (from 1980 to 1989) and Scott Travis (1990 to today) After struggling for years and recording 5 albums and a live record by 1979, Judas Priest was ready for the 80's and their 6th album 'British Steel' became a catalyst for the 80's metal scene... By 1982, they were the biggest heavy metal band in the world for a few years and dominated the 80's decade w/ iconic metal albums like 'Screaming for vengeance' (1982) and 'Defenders of the Faith' (1984) However, the band encountered difficult obstacles at their peak... Vocalist Rob Halford is gay ...and he struggled w/ being in the public eye, turning to alcohol, drugs, bad relationships and attempting to take his own life in 1986... Thankfully, he entered recovery and put that behind (He finally came out in 1998) In 1990, Judas Priest was sued in court and put on trial for allegedly putting a 'subliminal message' in a song which inspired 2 teens in Nevada to take their own lives (1 survived... the other later OD'd) ...Judas Priest were eventually acquitted. Following the tour for their most aggressive album 'Painkiller' in 1990... vocalist Rob Halford announced in 1992 that he was leaving Judas Priest for a solo career. After a long vocalist search, Judas Priest announced American vocalist Tim 'Ripper' Owens' as the new singer and released the albums 'Jugulator' (1997) and 'Demolition' (2001)... but Priest was not pulling the same crowds as they had w/ Rob Halford (who was also struggling w/ his solo career) ...So, Judas Priest announced their reunion w/ singer Rob Halford in 2004 and a new album 'Angel of Retribution'... as the band rediscovered their popularity. In 2010, original guitarist K.K. Downing announced he was leaving the band, frustrated w/ guitarist Glenn Tipton's handling of the band... He formed his own band K.K.'s Priest in 2019 w/ vocalist Tim 'Ripper' Owens and has released 2 new albums. In 2011, Judas Priest announced Richie Faulkner (guitar) had joined the band and their recent records have been the highest charting of their career - 'Redeemer of Souls' (2014)... 'Firepower' (2018) and 'Invincible Shield' (2024)... However, Glenn Tipton (guitar) announced in 2018 that he was unable to tour w/ the band because of Parkinson's disease; his replacement on tour would be guitarist Andy Sneap, who was also the band's producer.

Judas Priest no doubt is one of the very best classic Heavy Metal bands, this is but a sample of how they rocked out. Next my dear, try Victim of Changes, an all time epic, please listen to the great studio original first, it has a mix that is perfect and you need to hear, then do it live in 1983 and watch and listen in wonder. This band will blow you way, anything from 1974 to 1985 is peak Priest. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎶🔥
