I will definitely try the sock and the t-shirt folds. My husband used to have a pair of shorts that folded into it's own pocket. Luckily he only used them when we camped because when he "unfolded" them they were wrinklier than a sharpei.

Now I have a better way to store my pants! I don't mind if most of my pants/shorts stretch out, but this is a great way to keep my exercise bottoms neat. For my excercise tops and all my undershirts, I ranger roll it so it saves a ton of space.

First, let me say that I am a subscriber and love your videos. I’m in no way trying to leave a bad or hurtful comment. I’m just curious. Do you iron everything before you wear it? I think some of these hacks would cause more work when it comes time to wearing them. Some I think would work great but the pants would definitely need ironing. How stretched out do the bottom of the sweaters get? I’m all for making space in my closet but if I have to iron everything it’s not worth it to me. Have a great day!
@emic1387 жыл бұрын
pam bradshaw exactly what i was thinking when watching this. seemed like alternate-but-less-practical ways to fold things. 🤔
@thatpracticalmom7 жыл бұрын
hey! In my own closet I hang any of my items that are bound to get wrinkly - like I mentioned with my blouses/button ups. I also keep a steamer if things need a quick steam in the AM before I head out. I wear mostly jeans, so I don't have to worry about my bottoms getting wrinkles. I use these hacks a lot for traveling to save space and don't notice that things have anymore wrinkles than usual (in some cases they have less!) Hope this helps a little! I think a lot depends on the types of fabrics you own.

This seems really space saving for packing but I would recommend against doing that with anything at all stretchy. I stopped balling up my socks after reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up and noticed immediately that she (Marie Kondo) was right about how stretched out the tops were. It's been several years of folding socks instead of balling them and socks I bought soon after starting to fold are still firm. Elastic breaks down faster the more it's under pressure.

Downey wrinkle release. If you don’t want to buy it you can make it for next to nothing with some fabric softener. There are tones of videos on how to make it.

@Allieh7 жыл бұрын
I feel like a lot of these folding techniques would stretch your clothes out in weird ways
@jencasey3167 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! And with them all tucked in like that it will take longer to find what you want (if you are like me and only wear a couple of colors so the pattern on the front is the only real difference ) I would have to unfold and check every sweatshirt to find the one I wanted! It would also take longer to get dressed in the morning because they aren't going to fall unfolded when you pick them up you will need to undo the whole process! I can get up and out the door including breakfast and make up in under 30 minutes now cause I can just grab and throw on my clothes - and mornings are SOOOOO much worse than taking 15 minutes to fold all the laundry. Id much rather sleep in and have a slightly higher stack of clothes in my drawers than take all that extra time intricately folding to make drawers look neat. I just use the same technique for everything: hold it in the air by the shoulder seam (between collar and sleeve) for shirts fold in both sides at once to tuck any sleeves and the sides in then lay it down on the bed face down until the bottom half is all on the bed and flip the other half back - takes 2 seconds per shirt - and pants are just held by the waist band and accordion folded into thirds by draping as well - takes 2 seconds.
