You have Style Rudd, hearing you play is not enough. The true Magic , is seeing you play. I enjoy it most when you walk the keys down with your right hand.. here, Black Cat Boogie, WOW. This is amazing..

Still think, rewatching your solo piano videos, you are the best left-hander out of the pianists. Your left hand is the best, I mean. It is heavy, strong and goes on and on like a motor. I am constantly trying to get that effect out of my left hand playing. You are awesome, Ruud, keep on with solo piano sometimes, please, to further spread your unique left-hand style into the this wonderful world of music.

Thank you! Video 3 - Huckebuck boogie- is by far the most popular, but I really like this one, because it's more improvisation

That's really an unusual conception of boogie-playing... yes, your style is quite individual and creative. Thanks for sharing your fine art worldwide!

+Stompy23 Wow - you have seen many video's ( but maybe not all 87). Over the years I "created" my unusual style of boogie. Some like it , some do not-they stick to the well known - of course many times beautiful - stuff . More video's in 2016!

+Ruud van Ingen I have seen about 20 videos or so, not yet all. Yesterday night I eventually had to go to bed before watching more, but I rarely happen to hang around in one single YT channel for hours. As you might have noticed by checking my channel, I collect old 78rpm shellac records so I'm almost bound to stick to the conventional. Normally, I don't really like fusioning the trad with contemporary 'modern' elements because the result will often sound somewhat stilted or, even worse, boringly commercial. This is absolutely not the case with your style, which sounds rather authentic and exciting than synthetic and sensational.

+Stompy23 Great Job! If you want I can send you a cd with the sound, or a dvd of my video's. If so please please mail me the numbers of the video. Of course thanks for all the comments, and more video's with a feeling in 2016 Ruud van Ingen ingenr@xs4all.nl

Thank you! How about your piano playing. Do you still play? Ruud van Ingen
@Soaches9 жыл бұрын
Every now and then! I think I mentioned earlier that my apartment has a piano, which I still use almost on a daily basis. If not for learning new songs, then just to clink a bit whenever I feel like it. :) I still think it's great to see you still uploading such great covers after all this time!
@RuudvanIngen9 жыл бұрын
Yes, you have. But I still wondered if you continued with boogie woogie------
@Soaches9 жыл бұрын
Sadly, not as much. If I were to continue, I think I would have to learn it from the basics. Though searching, I've found it hard to find any videos or books that I find helpful.

Maybe you listen to Jimmy Yancey - for example Mournful Blues - and other songs - many on youtube. It is very good to listen at, and it sounds a bit simple- not too many notes. Many pianoblues players start with Jimmy Jancey Ruud van Ingen

@RuudvanIngen9 жыл бұрын
No... I know there are some teaching video's on youtube (blues-boogie woogie) but in the end you have to do it yourself! I advise people to listen to the Jimmey Yancey recordings on youtube, it's a good start. Thanks for comments! Ruud van Ingen
