Ingersoll do make very good pneumatic tools. I have had a few never any issues. 👍

The do indeed. I've got an old IR 1/2" impact gun that has to be at least 35 years old. Never ever oiled it and it still works. One of the older mechanics gave it to me when I started working as a fleet mechanic at a taxi company in the 80's

@@BruceLyeg i bought the ingersoll half ton gun back in the 90's if it wouldn't turn it ,it would break it . did a lot of leaf spring stuff back in the 90's was why i bought it.
@BruceLyeg4 жыл бұрын
Ya, leaf springs are not fun in the land of rust.

I always put a ball valve before the quick chuck coupler so I can cut air off to make installing tools on coupler so much easier bruce

I've a got a really old IR air hammer. Never really use it much, the quick release is a nice feature. Reminds me I really need to fix my compressor! Another job on the list
@BruceLyeg4 жыл бұрын
The QR is awesome. I don't use my compressor nearly as much as I used to but for some things it's irreplaceable. If you're like me, that list is never ending

I like IR tools too. I have never used an air hammer before but use their cousin, the rivet gun, all the time. They have slower hammer speeds and a precise teasing trigger, my good ones it is possible to deliver a single blow. Good score.
@BruceLyeg4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! BDOG above said something similar in his comment about riveting

Awesome Bruce《☆》IR is a good brand. I have a cheap air hammer that came in a set. I don't think I've used it on any real projects yet but I did by a tie rod & ball joint knocker for it🤓👍🏾I've got quite a few hours under my belt bucking solid rivets when doing aircraft sheet metal & structural repairs. Rivet bucking guns are essentially the same thing but with better triggers & usually put a regulator in line so you don't pull a machine gun Kelly on the skin of the airplane🤔Sometimes it's a 2 man job if you can't operate the gun with one hand & hold the bucking bar with the other. Clear & precise communication is very important in that regard :*: Greetings from⛾Florida🤳my friend🤓🗣🔊☮✌👍🏾

Thanks BDOG. Upside downdog mentioned doing a similar thing below. I could see how it could go sideways without clear timely communication

@justwrenchit92874 жыл бұрын
At my previous job, we used similar IR air hammers. They held up pretty well considering they never got oiled and always abused. Some lasted my entire tenure of 8+ years without fail. It should serve you well. I do like the quick release ours still had the retainer spring.

a, I hate the retainer springs. In all the time I've used air hammers I've never oiled one lol
