Been around since the start of year two, I cant believe its year nine, the portal that sits right next to my house has enabled me to continue through cv19, its been a blessing through all of this, thank you all for all of your hard work, Im looking forward to working with other agents again, I think my favourite memory was taking part in 'The Blooming Onion' in Arizona, some of the best moments of my life have been playing with friends and taking part in the events.

I am an Ingress agent since the start (when you had to be invited) and I still love it. I also didn’t get all the drama about the new scanner. It just needed time to get as good as it is now. Im not a big fan of the „pay to win“- store. But it evolved really great and I see even a little uprise in players in my city in Austria! 👍 Hope the servers will be up till the end of my human years. 🥰

Discovered ingress this year in summer and was very active and motivated. But this game has no long-term motivation for me for the following reasons: - Your success depends mostly on number of players in your faction at your local area and the time you accept to put into it, driving around. It is not so much about good ideas or planning (as i thought in the first months). - It's easier to destroy links and fields than to build them. So the game is more about destroying than building, at least when... - your faction is the clear minority in your region (you against many). It's even not possible to hold the portal close to my house. - The dominating faction can change the environment by getting portals deleted you might like and they dislike. For example when you reach a fav portal by bike, but they have problems reaching it by car. The portal suddenly disappeared one morning. - The dominating faction can create (several) portals which are in an area that is unreachable for others. So in the end, it's all about numbers in players in your local area. No matter what you do, you cannot even hold a little home area if they don't want you to. If they decide to, they can dominate you. Don't know exactly how you could change this. But all that effort you put into it, should lead to a better lasting result. Maybe some kind of "home zones", where every player can define a location as home zone where his influence is strong and decays with the distance, so that for example it would be very hard to destroy his home portal. But just a quick idea. Actually i loved ingress for some months very much, in particular, because it motivated me to discover new portals and spots in my home area by bike. Would still love that if that would make any difference in my succes (It does not, because once discovered, the opponent drives to it with his car and destroys it soon). After thinking about it, i would love to have a more "cooperative" game with more reward for discovering or reaching new areas and spots - a little bit like discovery on an MMORPG map. ;) Just my two cents. For now, i stopped playing, since i don't want to feel like sisyphus, claiming the same portals over and over again just to get them destroyed a few hours later, while the opponent deletes my portals and uses his own portals that are unreachable for me. ;)

Before Pokémon Go, Ingress was pretty popping, especially in my area, but a lot of the Ingress community went to PoGo since that's where all the excitement was. Lot of ingress's features have ended up in Niantic's their other games. I'll be shocked if they do anything major for year 10 since this channel seems to have gotten really quiet.

I'm a level 8 Agent, yet still feel woefully ignorant. I'm trying to figure out what the advantage is of the Jarvis viruses I have in my inventory. I don't understand why I, as a Resistance agent, would want to use a Jarvis virus to flip a Resistance portal to an Enlightened portal. It seems counterproductive. I have 2 Jarvis viruses in my inventory. While trying to figure out how to use them, I realized that's what would happen. Not sure why I'd want to do that.

RES agents in my area flip to green so that they can take the portal back when the ENL agent goes away. They typically deploy low Resonators and bad mods such as Link Amps. ENL use ADA in the same way. Marginally good tactic especially when the portal is in a park that closes at sundown, but that can be neutralized outside park boundaries.

No matter how good this game is, unfortunately it took my cousin's life, please don't have missions in dangerous areas in the game, especially on train tracks. He was very young, only 39 years old, and had two children.
