It's amazing to see how, after all the decades have gone by, Ingrid Bergman is still as fabulous, gorgeous and enchanting as ever, or even better. She truly is the epitome of genuine beauty, of elegance, and of sophistication. Those eyes and smile of her owned such warmth which makes her more unique... She's one kind of person whom you will find to take your eyes off... Ingrid Bergman, indeed, is A LEGEND!

Being surrounded by legendary actors, accompanied by giants like Cary Grant, Anthony Perkins, Jim Stewart etc etc etc, and lauded by Ingrid Bergman. In the centre is Alfred Hitchcock. This is as close to cinematic paradise as it can ever get.

I got this tribute on vcr tape as part of a coupon exchange along with Sabotage (1937). I remember watching its original broadcast. I was in junior high and the whole art class was talking about it the next day. Mind you, those kids only knew Hitchcock from The Birds(1963) and Psycho(1960). They couldn't stop talking about the clips of his other films and wanted to see them. I of course was answering questions left and right. Having studied his movies since I was 10.

He was always very resentful of the Hollywood community. Gotta realize that during his career, he wasn't taken seriously as an important director. He was too commercial. Now he's considered one of the greats but not at the time. That's why he gave the shortest Oscar speech in history when he got the Lifetime Achievement Award. He walked up to the podium, said "thank you" and walked off.
