All native New Yorkers saw those first few shots and pretty much instantly knew what was going on. Even the specific locations people haven't visited have a certain look. You just know. It's good this is mostly NOT tourist locations. They don't define New York City. I believe Ingrid is a native. This is clearly a love letter to New York. We're all this emotional about it.

Zayn is a bit of a strange choice for a love letter to New York City, but it worked in the end I guess. FYI: Since it got asked during the reaction, I saw credits for the filming indicating his part was filmed in Pennsylvania. So he didn't travel. And that smaller park with the musicians and dancer? It actually is what I'd consider downtown. That was Washington Square Park, in Greenwich Village. You can see the famous Arch behind them. I briefly thought it might be Union Square Park (also downtown) but the Arch proved otherwise.
