At 73 years old and recently widowed I am so glad to have found you and Dr Sarno many years ago. Throughout my 40s 50s to mid sixties I had a bad back, neck, shoulder - you name it! I am now mowing all my own lawns, gardening, housework etc etc. I always thought I would be in a wheelchair at this age. All the best to Ingrid & THANKYOU Dan. Sue UK ❤

32mins. Dan, your expression of depression spot on. Our bodies know. Ingrid have heard you on the group calls, you're an inspiration. You have got through so much . Think back then, the fear of being locked up/away was very strong for so many. The stigma especially in a small community must have been vast. Wishing you the best life.

@@ingridbaker7976 Thanks Ingrid. Your story was very encouraging and when you said you’d made your health a full time project with Curable, Nicole Sachs, etc, it was like listening to me. I have been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis but I completely believe it’s TMS. I’m approaching it the same way you are and I believe it will get better. I’m hearing more and more how people with autoimmune issues have used this approach and got well. Your interview has got me off the fence about joining the group calls so thank you again Ingrid! I finally watched Ingrid and it was beautiful. Wow. Ingrid, you are wonderful. I gained so much from your testimony. I told Marly that one of the tidbits that struck me was Dans explanation of the ‘messages of safety’ as TRUTHS. They are FACTS. That hit me. Because I think that it’s easy to see them as words to ‘placate’ the brain. Just like how we soothe children, pets and adults who are in distress - we soothe them to calm them down. But we don’t always know if our soothing is based in fact. We do it to relieve the person who is in immediate distress. But, TMS messages of safety are rooted in FACT! The FACT that we KNOW we are safe and NOT BROKEN. This little tidbit has been very empowering for me! Thank you Ingrid - you are beautiful inside and out! ❤

What a wonderful interview! I relate so deeply to many aspects of Ingrid's story, including the belief that I was "genetically predisposed" to depression and anxiety (because of my father and grandmother). Similarly, even after learning about TMS, I spent many months taking the perfectionist approach (buying all the books, trying different brain training programs, focusing on "healing" all day). I love that Dan teaches us that it doesn't have to be so complicated. Thank you Ingrid for sharing your inspiring story! (And now that I've joined the group coaching, I'm so so glad I did!)

❤❤I can relate to the depression, plus anxiety for me. At one point I was on 3 different meds for depression, 1 for anxiety, pain meds, nerve meds, and everything got worse! They didn’t even make a dent! I’m only on 1 depression med today, thankfully. Still on a nerve med that doesn’t do anything. I’ve been going through so many UTI’s/OAB. It’s such a drag. I’m trying to see how I can apply TMS/PDP to the UTI’s. We’ve gone through a lot of the same things However, not losing a pregnancy. I’m so sorry about that! I can relate to being forced to give up a pregnancy because he didn’t love me, he said. That really messes you up for years (underlying emotional pain) I’m also a perfectionist, a people pleaserOh the labels of genetic depression!I like the “what’s my mental state; am I relaxed?? I’m always so tense! Fight or Flight is constant. Dan has a great, life saving video on that! I got so addicted to benzos!! OMG the withdrawal was horrendous because they took me off suddenly, but I was on 8mg daily That was just My experience, not everyone’s! Brain can absolutely be suggestive! I can’t wait to get to the point of not caring about these sensations. I am getting better at living life, in spite of. I’m grateful for that. Yes! Focus on the Now! There’s too much shit to process! Don’t go to therapy anymore for that very reason! Refuse to keep going back and wading in it! The group coaching calls are life changing/life saving 😊Tears are liquid prayers 🙏 It’s all about breaking the pattern of pain thinking, especially when it’s so high and been going on for so long. However, it doesn’t have to stay that way! We Can Flip the Script for sure! It’s definitely possible! As Donna has said..”millions of people have recovered, why can’t we”?? Flip the script Paula, always works for me. We have around 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day so it is little wonder some of them are negative. It is the not buying into the negative that is the key. Really interesting to listen to this as I went through Anti depressant withdrawal for several years and then when the symptoms suddenly went my bladder issues started a few weeks after. Those few weeks were amazing to be free but my mind put me straight back into the TMS trap with the bladder condition. I'm starting to wonder if the majority of the extreme end of my withdrawal could of been FEAR/TMS. I must admit after being a member of the withdrawal support forums back in the day they struck so much FEAR into me I am now struggling to not relate my bladder condition to the drug withdrawal itself. Ironically I went on anti depressants for RSI in 2007, I had come across the TMShelp forum but never really knew what to do after reading mind body prescription. So I have gone full circle and still have the FEAR around chronic symptoms. Thankyou so much Dan for your videos, I hope to join the groups one day.

While I would never say medication cannot cause symptoms, the fear and even terror spread in those medication groups can only intensify any legitimate symptoms. The best place to begin: www.PainFreeYou.com/start

Goodness sorry to hear what you have been through but there is HOPE (Hold On Pain Ends). Discovering TMS and applying it to our own symptoms is a huge step. I think, for me, it was the accurate knowledge (if in doubt take the pain test on the website where you will also find an FIT test) and then the consistency of sending myself messages of safety and getting out there living life regardless of the symptoms that was key in my recovery. As I say in the interview, recovery is not focusing on the complete eradication of pain, it is not caring whether or not they are there and starving them of fear and attention. Once we practice this the symptoms slowly fade away of their own accord as our brains get the message that we are OK and they shut off the false alarm. The group has literally been a game changer for me and I would not be where I am were it not for their support. I can’t recommend joining the groups highly enough. XX

Fantastic, moving, inspiring success story! Thank you Ingrid for sharing and thank you Dan for this video. I just watched the movie Turning Red! It's a cartoon but is a good movie and lesson for adults too! Good lesson about people pleasing and acceptance of who we are inside. Hopefully some other Tmsers will enjoy it. 🐾🙂♥️

I thought the part about people in the tapering forums are terrified is really interesting and I have some anecdotal experience. I was on quite a high dose of Lyrica for years. One day I'd decided I'd had enough of the side effects without it helping and so I just stopped taking them. That was it. Side effects went away after a week and I never thought about it again. Until I stumbled across posts of all these people saying coming off lyrica ruined their lives and that if they didn't taper correctly it was making them extremely poorly and they were super frustrated that their GP wasn't supporting them to do it "properly". It was an interesting moment to me

Unlike Ingrid, I do not have IC with a pristine bladder - I have IC with Hunner's lesions in my bladder. I am just starting on my TMS journey, listening to Dan's videos, having read Dr. Sarno's book The Mindbody Prescription, Alan Gordon's The Way Out, and using the Curable app. So I know that there is something wrong with my bladder and I'm having trouble getting past this. Some of my pain is TMS because it shifts to different places and seems worse in stressful situations. But I'm not sure I can get rid of all the pain, because unlike many TMS sufferers, something is broken (lesions are real inflamation in my bladder). Waits are long in my country for treatment of these lesions so I'm hoping to get some relief using your techniques, but not sure if it's possible when there is really something physically wrong...

Perhaps the bladder is not pristine, but do you have to hurt as bad as you do? Todays video speaks to that issue. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWKkZ4qfnpx0gKs

I'd like to comment on this as a man with IC. My doc calls it systemic IC even though my bladder is fine looking. To give you some comfort, there is plenty of documentation of people with lesions that had cystoscopies for reasons unrelated to pain and they also had lesions. My doc said that hydrodistension under anesthesia would tell him for sure if I had bladder centric IC, but even the IC network states that it is generally beginning to be recognized that hydrodistension is not a good way because even healthy people will develop glumerulations on their bladder wall and I've heard nothing but bad things from the test even though my doc says it is relatively pain free. At the end of the day, all it will do is damage my bladder and cause me more pain to have it stretched and the treatment for healthy bladders is the same as those like me where I did not have obvious lesions or ulcers. My urologist says it looks perfectly normal. I struggle everyday and am debating taking the gabapentin that the dog wants me to take to see if it helps take the edge off. I feel very similar to ingrid and I can watch my flares happen a few days after a stressful decision or life event. It's almost comical, yet I still struggle applying TMS to my life cause deep down, I'm still afraid and have doubts. I'd never wish this on anyone. It trumps all other pain. But I am trying to have faith that TMS is the way, cause western medicine is mostly clueless. IN FACT!!! my urologist said the first line of defense against IC is stress reduction. Diet does nothing for me. I tried. The only thing that bothers me is caffeine as it increases my urge to pee which is not a good thing. I experience all the pain and burning with no physical markers. I do have microscopic blood in my urine most of the time, but so does my mom and her bladder doesn't hurt. Even the urologist waved it off as pretty normal for many people. This is hard. It's the hardest thing ever an I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. But I have a glimmer of faith in TMS and I hear God telling me to be patient and I will be well

Everyone on here is a super nice person. It has never been proven depression is genetic. In fact, the opposite is true. My mom survived ww2 hiding in the woods. I got off of all meds 10 years ago. My last growing experience is conquering allergy and fear of travel.

It's only 20% of our genes. Rest is epigenetics that are controlled by our environment, which effects the cells that turn on the stuff. Bruce Lipton's books are brilliant at explaining. All the science there.

From the science I’ve read it’s never been absolutely proven but evidence to show some of us maybe carry a genetic tendency for under the right environment or triggers. IMHO learned behavior or coping mechanisms and filters passed from gen to gen play an equal or bigger role. Edit: part of the genetic tendency now showing more possibility is microbiome passed from mom in womb and during birth. Also a more sensitive central nervous system passed on either genetically or thru bacteria prior to birth and early yrs. Dr Gabor Mate has looked at a lot of research on it and HSP - highly sensitive person. ✌️Peace and health.

Our bodies heal from broken bones. It can take a length of time but they do heal. If I can encourage you to take the pain test on the Pain Free You website where you will find an FIT assessment and this will allow you to see if your symptoms are behaving like TMS (or PDP (perceived danger pain) as Dan likes to refer to it). Once you have this knowledge you can work on applying the principles Dan teaches. It is not an overnight fix but it does work. I have seen many recover from horrendous conditions and they have gone on to reclaim their lives. I have heard of stores where folks have completely recovered from debilitating migraines with this work. Check it out as this stuff really does work.
@PainFreeYou

Real injuries do occur. But real injuries heal. Pain that lasts longer than the typical healing timeframe, has become learned and is nothing more than brain signals from perceived danger. And why would a jaw injury cause a migraine? Physiologically it doesn't make sense. But TMS does. See how your symptoms behave. Do the assessments here: www.PainFreeYou.com/start Watch the first two videos on that page as well.
