李재성 The only one of those characters originally raised in Faerghus to my knowledge is Ashe. Mercedes is Adrestian, Dedue is from Duscur, and it’s unclear where Yuri was raised but he made it clear he went (back?) to Faerghus mainly to scam Count Rowe to get in the Academy. Yuri’s entire backstory makes it sound like he was raised in the Empire until he was around 10-14 or so and went back to the Kingdom after Bernie’s dad beat him half to death, but it seems even more likely he only went back later than that in order to scam Rowe and get into the academy.

Jacob Heward Well they were all part of the Blue Lion House at one point in their lives. And the Blue Lions are for students from Faerghus. In Dedue’s case, Duscur is near Faerghus. Just like how Bridgid is near Adrestia and is a vassal state to the empire, and that’s why Petra is in the Black Eagle house. We can assume the same applies for Dedue. I don’t know if Mercedes considers herself an Adrestian anymore though. Yuri was born to a prostitute from Faerghus.
