In Ching Dynasty, there was a slogan ‘反清復明’, which means people wanted to be ruled by Ming Dynasty rather than Ching dynasty, so the lion dance will eat the vegetables during dancing. For now, the meaning of the vegetables mean 生財 which is taking the Chinese pronunciation of 生菜😁
