@@Desslar Yeah, I've seen videos lately about Inhumanoids but nothing about Robotix or Bigfoot (based on the SST Muscle Machines toyline), though Bigfoot was based on actual monster trucks and the title truck itself appeared in two other kids shows, Video Power and Meteor & The Mighty Monster Trucks. Robotix had a brief rebirth as an educational building toy and that was pretty much it.

I bought the partial set when it was released and eventually bought a ... questionable ... complete set. It's fun to pick out the shared voice actors from other shows. Wally Burr was an awesome voice director. The story line itself was quite unique.

Just because it happens in real life doesn't and shouldn't make it right. If we allow ourselves to become apathetic about corruption and social injustice, we lose the ability to fight back against it. Even in the context of the show, the viewer is supposed to be outraged by the slap on the wrist the rich bad guy gets for his crimes, and want to see him punished severely.

HILARIOUS!! I got the big 3 Inhumanoids on clearance for $10 each as a kid! I thought they were great, but didn't care for any of the other figures. Also, the figures pictured in the little collection booklet that came with each toy looked WAY cooler than what we ended up getting on store shelves. Must have been prototype photos. Even so, Tendril still looked cool. I think I would have liked the whole toy line more if I had either seen the cartoon (except for the last few episodes, apparently 😬) or read the Marvel comics.

I just binged this series and idk why people would think any of these characters are unlikable. Aside from maybe Blackthorn and Mauler. The Earth Core team is a great team of old friends who can throw jabs at each other and just laugh it off with a bit of snark. The Redwoods and Granites are strange but very human creatures who prioritize peace and self preservation over violence and rash actions. The magnetic brothers (never could get their names right since the audio of this series could be clearer) have polar opposite personalities which suits them well. The inhumanoids, while villains, have such colorful and distinct personalities ya cant help but to love em. And honestly, the relationship between Metlar and the Statue of Liberty is probably one of the greatest pieces of television history.

The Inhumanoids were actually a really great cartoon series! Going back and rewatching it as an adult, I forgot that the show was done in an episodic format where each episode continued into the next one! I can’t really think of any children’s cartoons that followed this type of structure. The shows theme and animation was excellent as well. The series really did have a mature tone and feel. The fact that the show ends with the Earth Core Heroes becoming complete money hungry celebrity douchbags, is something you never thought you’d see in a children’s cartoon. The toy line was really cool too. The Inhumanoid toy creatures were big and imposing and the Earth Core figures were nicely detailed as well! I loved these toys growing up and I never missed an episode during its original run! I’m real happy that RetroBlasting gave the Inhumanoids some long needed love because this cartoon is criminally underrated!

Gotta love the George Landisburg. I got these toys as hand-me-downs from my older brother, along with a bunch of weird 80s toys - RoboForce, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, all stuff that wasnt super popular. I think the only stuff he had that was popular was Star Wars toys, which he sold in the mid 90s to build a 386. He was the only child between my parents and their siblings for a few years so he got a bunch of stuff. My mom said she never really had a problem getting stuff for Christmas cuz we liked the less popular toys, even with the Star Wars stuff cuz he wasnt born til after A New Hope so they didnt have to buy an empty box with a mail in rebate for Christmas. Augur was my favorite, but the drill and helmet got lost. Tendrils fangs broke off, I think that was a common thing. I dont think I knew they were from a cartoon, along with a lot of his toys, except for Roboforce, I do remember seeing that. I didnt even know Jayce and The Wheeled Warriors was the name of that show until the internet, I just liked the trucks with the buzzsaws and spikes that the brains and little guys sat in.

This show was amazing because it was a sharp contrast to what came before it. It was dark, complex, and yet at the same time popcorn for the brain. The characters didn't have set rules, so seeing them ignore faction lines was really refreshing. Literally nothing like this existed on tv at the time, so anyone who saw it was transfixed. You might want to look into the unreleased prototype figures for season 2 that surfaced a few years ago by Spinmaster I believe.

I remember the only reason I even got to see the cartoon back in the 80s was because my cousin had a satellite dish (the old giant TV station grade ones, not these new tiny ones) and so he could tape all the feeds sent to UHF stations, including ones they'd choose not to air. I kind of wish I'd been able to afford the giant monster figures so I could have them fight my Joes and Transformers the way I did with the Clash of the Titans Kraken and my Rodan.

Dang and to think that was marketed towards kids! Honestly, the concept is rather nightmare inducing for a kids show when you think about it. Basically, lovecraftian monsters that emerge from underground to reek havoc on mankind. The scene where D’compose turns Sandra into a giant monster was definitely an example of how dark this show was. Honestly, people said Sonic Satam was a dark show, but I think Inhumanoids manages to too Sonic Satam in darkness, effectively making Sonic Satam look like a light hearted comedy.

I loved the mini series as a kid, they played it alot up here in CT. back then. I never new they actually made a full season until i saw it a few years ago. Those episodes must hace been buried in some crappytime slot after parents saw what the show was about

Interestingly enough, Flint Dille, the writer for the Inhumanoids, was trying to quit smoking during this, which might account for the darkness. Dille has bemoaned the current state of people glued to their smartphones, so it seems each generation’s critique comes full circle...

I heard that line too often "kids entertainment is going to hell." But now I'm sad I missed out on this craziness

I don't think we ever got the toys of this in Ireland, my first exposure to Inhumanoids was when the Marvel comic got reprinted as a backup strip in the UK Transformers comic - which adapted the pilot miniseries and got cancelled very quickly, so it ended with the scene where Sandra got turned into a monster and was never continued (despite a note in the reprint saying it would be). Maybe a year later the TV show wound up on a satellite TV channel we got and I finally got to see how the story continued. I remember the depiction of Sandra's monsterisation being very creepy in the comic - the scene stuck with me for quite some time, probably egged on by the unresolved cliffhanger - but it didn't seem as bad in the cartoon.

I remember watching the inhumanoids during the mid-80s on Sunday mornings I loved the cartoon! I thought cartoons on Sunday was pretty cool considering we had cartoons on Saturday as well

Had books & coloring books and some of the mutors figures but always wanted the monsters. And D’Compose was my favorite and my favorite good guy was Augor. Finally watched the whole series recently here on KZbin, I liked it

I first saw it on someone's VHS player. I found the art style (mainly its large areas of just black) unsettling. I knew there was something deeper in the story but I found it unwatchable. Then some TV exec got a license for the show, and aired it alongside Visionaries, but got local talent-- translators and writers and big name comedians who were in it for the fun, plus occasional cameos by local newscasters-- to voice the Filipino dub. The resulting dissonance in tone shouldn't have worked, but it did. It was still a Lovecraftian horror story seen from the eyes of the humans who occasionally won against the creatures from hell, but the localization and bigger emphasis on the absurd/comedic aspects of the show made me love it. The toys... well, nobody could market or salvage the toys, IMO.

I was 6 years old. All I remember is D Compose and the guy who always throw his shoe at the T.V. I asked my dad, "Is he paying for that?" He said "No, you are" And I started crying. Thanks dad, what a funny jerk you are, but I love you. 😄😂

I totally remember using Inhumanoids as a PLURAL NOUN in MadLibs! This always created absurd stories that cracked us up beyond belief when we were kids. That one Inhumanoid Decompose was freaky with the ability to catch people in his fucking RIBCAGE!!! The theme song has been kicking around in my head for DECADES!!! INHUMANOIDS! INHUMANOIDS! THE EVIL THAT LIES WITHIN! DOWN IN THE FIREY DEPTHS OF THE EARTH WHERE NIGHTMARES BEGIN!!!!

I can recall watching all the cartoons from that Sunday morning block. We didn't go to church. I loved this cartoon. But I also loved the Robotix cartoon. Which honestly was way better than the building toy line. And the best thing about that toy line was the amazing sci fi art on the boxes. Never had any of the toys for the cartoons from that block except for the Bigfoot truck. Mom wouldn't buy the Robotix or Inhumanoids stuff. But that was only because of the cost.

I was hooked up Around ‘87 with this Cartoon. In the ‘80 Puerto Rico had an unsung Hero on TV that pushed for these cartoons like Mazinger, G Force and Inhumanoids. I got to earn Metlar at 9 years old because I worked hard to the point that my parents couldn’t refuse to get it.
