I was planning to copy Speed Academy’s Badass2000, but now I’m adding your car to the list of motivators! I love the information overload! I had it as a passenger in a spec Miata at Hallett. That was insane, and I want it for my car now.

What a rad car! I have 2 ap1s and i wanna set one up for the track but they are going up in value so much these days that I dont really wanna risk it on track. I live next to Boeing in Everett WA and there are a bunch of cool roads around there with no cops. Thats my go to rip to 9k spot lol. These cars are amazing. I had a e46 m3 for years and my little brother bought an S2k. I always had more fun driving his car. Anyways keep up the great content.

Track it! Love Washington

Tracks are safer than the street and you will see why the car is so valued on the track.

@@waltersmith3165 I used to do a lot of track days with my modified focus zx3. Saw a lot of expensive cars get wrecked on the track. Pacific Raceways is my local track and there is not a lot of room for mistakes there. Not to mention the insurance aspect. Great track cars for sure. If i get back into track days ill buy something cheap. maybe another focus.

No rear bar is definitely the way to go. I run stiffer rear springs than front (tuned for ride frequencies) and no rear bar, and the car is balanced and put the power down really cleanly

Too bad I missed you by 1 day. Looking forward to seeing this on SLB and Buttonwillow in the future.

so awesome thanks for sharing it with us. I have a hood scoop feeding my itb set-up I've played around with a few different versions over the years. but your filtration is far superior I'm only using the ovel shaped Jenvey filter.

Enjoying watching the vehicle changes. Suggest a mic with muffler to reduce echo, also i'd suggest an os giken rear diff with the karcepts rear bar. the karcepts rear bar allows you to fine tune, and with the os giken diff you can run the car more on its nose and the rear hangs on.
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! We have a proper mic but it's the garage. Probably need a bunch of sound tiles to fix it.
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
I have the OS diff! And I have the rear bar as well but I am trying to see if I can do without it. With more rear bias I don't think it's needed so I can save more weight!

I have seen a 3D printed intake implode and get sucked into an engine. I would reprint it thicker or reinforce with carbon or glass.
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
The couple is MJF printed with glass filled nylon. this is just as good as a production level part. The housing is just ABS. but it is pre filter so if it does crack or break the filter will be there to stop anything going into the engine. That said that part is temporary until I can get a carbon one made. Thanks!

2200!? with fuel and tires? amazing

Technically less than 2200 but yes that is ready to go with half a tank of fuel.

Hey Brook. I appreciate your channel, as I’m mid build update with a similar S2K. I also have a sleeved 89mm block. What head gasket are you using? I’ve heard of issues at 12.5:1 comp, but o ringing isn’t easy with such tight bore spacing. Also do you recommend the vtec killer rockers? I have Toda B cams, and only intended to rev to stock limit of 9k, maybe 9.5.
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks. If you only intend to rev to 9500 I'd stick with the stock rockers.
@Earlysport Жыл бұрын
Yeah I figured. I don’t think my cams or rods will support 10k revs. Do you know what head gasket you’re engine is built with? With an 89mm bore this becomes a critical choice.
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
@@Earlysport I do not, whatever 4piston specs.

JRZ suspension! My man! Stupid question, but what's preventing you from running the intake on the driver's side headlight instead? Wouldn't the shorter run be more efficient?
@brookhammerschmidt4464 Жыл бұрын
Basically just space. Fitting a filter in-between. I looked at doing it and would have had to compromise on filter size.
