If you enjoyed this look at the DMP-40, check out my other DMP series videos (the 4 most recent videos before this one)! Thanks for watching!

Just received and installed my new DMP30. Delivery took 8 days. I live in the netherlands. Very content so far. Very silent and pretty powerful. Thanks for pointing out this product to me.

Thrilled you’re enjoying it! I am eager to see just how long these units last. They seem very well-built!

I would recommend looking into the Red Sea AB+ for flow demonstration, the fluorescent food dye appearance helps easily visualize what's going on

Already picked some up. Thanks, friend!

Just a point of clarification. You actually can remove the controller from the MP40. It’s similarly designed to the way the Tunzes are. You have to remove the screws from the back and there is a little white cable clip inside the controller that unplugs from the circuit board.
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
I feel like they could’ve made that significantly easier, at some point in the past 20 years. 🤣
@TrevorHiller3 ай бұрын
@@kalamazoo_reefer oh for sure. It should be a water resistant external connector. That’s actually a huge pet peeve of mine in this hobby-the shitty, non-standardized connectors so prevalent on all of our equipment. It costs about an extra $4 to use a locking water/dust tight connector that can’t get accidentally knocked out by snagging a wire or corroded and shorted out from a drip of saltwater or some salt spray. The Weipu SP11 connectors Tunze is using on the osmolator 3 are ideal for our hobby in my opinion. I hope more manufacturers will consider using them on their connections in the future.
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
@@TrevorHiller Trevor, the owners and shareholders of the reefkeeping industry need that extra $4 per unit. It’s super important that they get that gravy. I’m not sure you’re understanding the end goal here. The end goal is not to actually do right by the consumer. Get your head out of the clouds, there’s money to be funneled upwards here.

After i saw your DMP-20 video I for sure jumped on the boat. I now have and using the DMP-10 and It is great love it!!!

Jebao really did a nice job, it seems. Fingers crossed on the longevity, but I think we’ll be in good shape there. These things are solid! Thrilled you’re loving yours too.

I just pulled the trigger on the dmp 20 was really contemplating it. But replacing my Red Sea wave 25! So I’ll have my mp40 and dmp20 on a Red Sea 350

That’s a compelling flow mix! I like that. I keep debating a gyre one side of my tank. Only drawback is the increased cleaning schedule. I think gyres are great otherwise. Possibly better than most traditional wavemakers.
@andrefaria72843 ай бұрын
To open it up you can simply pinch it slightly, three times. I really liked mine. Quieter than my OP4 and Gyre!

Been trying to watch all the videos now that you have more then 1 have you figured out if they can be anti synched to each other. Not sure how to say it but linked so left pump runs for 20 minutes then turns off and triggers right one to turn for 20 sort of thing. Without manually programming them both
@kalamazoo_reefer2 ай бұрын
@@brockkirschenmann9711 Planning to get into that soon. It’ll probably come near the end of the series, when I rotate all these wavemakers fully onto my tank for good. Right now, doing a lot of comparative testing and accessory testing. So so much to get through. It’s a mountain. Sorry for the delay on that.

Not seeing this on Amazon. Where are you guys buying this from? Also, the app isn't working for me for the gyre pumps.. What app are you using? Thanks!
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
Not sure if gyres are supported. Newer wavemakers definitely are. Jebao Aqua app. These aren’t available on Amazon. Can be purchased on AliExpress.

@@kalamazoo_reefer aliexpress thanks! On the app, I meant, I had it running my gyres but I switched to a new phone and it won't load past initial startup screen anymore. Thought there might be a new version/app that I'm not finding.

@@philwu271 They just updated it like a day ago. So I’d try to delete and re-load it from the App Store, because it should load the latest version.

The only thing holden me back from these is the lack of max speed control on the app for random mode
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
I reached out to Jebao’s customer service regarding this exact thing. I intend to be a thorn in their side until they implement it. It’s strange they didn’t. It almost reads as though it was a simple oversight, since the other wave modes have the speed control.

Mentioned this product to my LFS yesterday and he said Eco Tech marine got their patent reinstated and have started litigation against Jecod/Jebao. Im no patent expert, but i thought once a patent expired, that’s it. Ive never heard of getting a patent reinstated before. He got this info from his distributor. If this is true, i wonder how long before the US stops Ali express from shipping to the USA
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
I am no expert in this arena, but I would anticipate it being very difficult for Aperture to stem the tide of these wavemakers coming into the United States. Our government’s relationship with China is not super great. They do not care about or respect our patents. From what I can tell, Jebao waited until the original 20-year patent was just about finished, and then ignored any patent reinstatement/extension. In my view, EcoTech had a 20 year reign over this technology. I’m unsure why they’d ever be granted a patent reinstatement or extension, unless they have friends in high places, pulling some shady strings for them.

You said a Chinese ripoff, I'd say chinese improvement. Ecotech never improved on theirs.
@kalamazoo_reefer3 ай бұрын
Possibly! I am encouraged by the suction cup cap innovation, the fact that it initially appears to be a bit quieter, and the easily-detachable nature of the cord from the control box. All improvements, for me. Longevity is the final big question in my mind.

Scotch has been the one ripping us off. Ten years and no improvement at a hellacious price. Now the patent has expired and there is open competition at a fraction of the Ecotech rip off price…
