I subscribed. I was debating between the 2022 Road king or 22 Electra glide standard. Both bikes are absolutely beautiful. I ultimately bought the Electra Glide standard for a few reasons. 1 was the fact I live in the north east and having a fairing over the windshield was more ideal for the cooler months. The 2nd reason was the fond memories I have of my brother and I with my dad's Electra Glides. I also lost my brother 15 years ago unexpectedly when we were teenagers. We always talked about how 1 day we would have some sweet Harleys like my dad's Electra Glides. Sorry for your loss and what a great gesture naming your bike in memory of your brother. Love the color of your Road king. beautiful bike!

My condolences for your brother, it's terrible to lose a family member in their youth. It's always in your head about what might of been. Thank you for subscribing & enjoy that Electra Glide (that was my 2nd choice if I couldn't find a Road King I liked😉).

Love the review, you sound like me! I traded in my Dyna after 16 years, I bought a 2022 road king and changed everything to Apes 18', chrome the front end, changed the cables, floorboard, lights, chrome the hell out of it! So much you can do, but you know that. But the power and ride are like a Cadillac I am going to have so much fun with this bike. Merry Christmas see ya at the bike rallies!

I ride the same 2017 RK in Vivid Black. Beautiful Bike and my second now after trading my 2014 RK for it. I love the Iconic look of the RK and really find it covers the highway and yet is still nimble enough for City rides. Great vid Bro Peace!

Thank you! It seems everyone like the Road King, I think it's all the chrome.

Buy a "Blaster" or equivalent! It's a filtered and forced warm air electric dryer. Resembles a canister vacuum cleaner. I use it for both my bikes on my J&S Jack(to easily wash and dry wheels). Dries in a fraction of the time and gets every nook and cranny.

Hello. I have a RK 2018 classic. fantastic bike. I also have the same problem with the saddle as you: I slide forward. which saddle do you recommend to avoid the problem? thank you
@Chase_N2 жыл бұрын
I ended up going with a Saddlemen Step Up. I'd had the same seat on my Sportster & my Dyna. It keeps you planted & it didn't change the reach to the handlebars. I did an install video with measurements- kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5eZh3ZqgrSml7c & a 1st ride video- kzbin.info/www/bejne/n53Th3aqasR6fdE

Nope, not as of 4/4/23. If I do have it appear, I'll likely make a vid.

Nice bike! New sub, drop a torque cam and Dyno it and will smoke that 114. Once you have cruise you can’t live without it. HD ( get a grip) grips are sweet, their thicker in the middle and taper.😎

I am considering this bike as well and ironically, I have a '99 Sportster in Diamond Ice (silver) like your brother. ;)
@Chase_N Жыл бұрын
You'll have to make the choice of either trading your Sportster in or keeping it. At this point, I don't think I got enough for my Sporty when I traded it in on my Dyna. My Dyna however brought me more in trade than what I paid for it. I actually miss my Sporty more than my Dyna though, but I would take either as a 2nd bike. A pre rubber mount Sporty (99' was the last year) would be a fun bike to have in the garage for sure.

@Chase_N I would never get rid of her. I have had her for almost 24 years now and it's part of the family. Not to mention, I don't think any dealership would take a bike that old in trade.
@Chase_N Жыл бұрын
@@hogwylde I wouldn't be so sure, they had Sportsters & Dynas at Adventure H-D that were late 90s early 00's for sale around beginning of October this year. I don't know about now but this past year any H-D was a hot commodity, the cheapest Sportsters were going for $3K & up. Still, once you've had a bike for that long, I can't think of a good enough reason to give it up unless it's to pass down to family.

Can't decide between a Heritage and a Road King. Heritage might have a more supple/plush suspension?
@Chase_N2 жыл бұрын
I never road the Heritage, but I did ride my cousin's 2020 Low Rider S while he took my Road King for a spin. When we got back to his house, he said he was getting a touring bike because it was a smoother ride & soaked up bumps better than his LRS. I agreed, the LRS is fast, but it wasn't comfortable. Also, maintenance is a little easier on the Touring bikes than it is on the Softails. For example, replacing the battery is a pain on the Softails in comparison with the Touring bikes. I think the extra 100lbs is the only drawback for the touring bikes, but it's not unbearable in the least.

Also I have heard that the 107m8 has a slight shorter stroke than the 114. which will have more rpms at speed.
@Chase_N2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I heard that somewhere recently too.
@rodleithner79312 жыл бұрын
@@Chase_N I have test both I like the 107 seems more snappy. The 114 is smoother esp up MT. grades. Both motors are beast. My 88 twin cam great motor however the M8 is superior in my opinion.

Do you mind sharing how much you paid for it (including your trade-in)? I’m in the market for the first time and trying to get a proper understanding. Thank you!

Sept 30th 2021, traded in my Dyna for $12K, paid $18K out the door for my 17 King. Prices have went up since, the same bike, same year, at the same dealer in the same color with 35,000 more miles on the clock was $21K when I was there a few months ago.

It's just because the color almost exactly matches the silver that was on my dearly departed brother's bike. He was killed when he was out riding- run off of the road by a guy in a car. His favorite movie & video game series was Resident Evil, Alice is the lead from the movies. Mostly that's how come up with names for bikes, stuff my brother liked. He got me into riding so I feel like I should include him in some way with every bike I get.
