You want to explain the value manure has in dollars and why you spend lot of money putting it on the fields.
@WesternNYfarmboy4 жыл бұрын
@@tomfaessler6072, Manure adds a lot more nutrition to the fields then any other fertilizer out there does. If you don't put some kind of manure down (cow, chicken or beef), you are losing the nitrogen and potash from the manure that the crops take. Manure also adds organic matter to the field (like what leaves do when you chop them up really fine). So if you wanted to do that, it would cost thousands of dollars just to get the field to a good state to grow decent crops.

Great video! That 30 minutes went quick. I helped a farmer knife in manure in the late 70s. He had a Same Buffalo tractor and a tandem axle Badger tanker with 3 injectors on the back. I don’t remember exactly how but every now and then an injector would plug and would have to take the hose off to unplug it. He would haul 24/7 in the spring and fall as to get as much out of the pit as he could. I always ran the night shift and l enjoyed it.

It still amazes me that people complain about manure. Just roll your window up and stfu. It's not like it's required for the basis of our agricultural practices or anything, eh? lol Without that smell of shit, the majority of crops would either be completely under-developed or fail entirely. It seems to me that people just love complaining about stuff that they don't have a clue about, just like those Geezers who protest against building Wind-Farms because they're "ugly." I dunno about you, but a coal-burning Power-Plant or a Nuclear Plant looks a hell of alot uglier than a bunch of white poles with giant fans on them. There was a massive Wind-Farm project out in PEI Canada that got flat-out shut down because the pensioners all wrote in and complained that the Wind-Farm would "ruin their view". It's bloody pathetic. I mean, how much of a weak-tittie comfort-junkie does one have to be to make such stupid decisions like that, all based upon aesthetics. I do have to ask, though... Why pig shit? Does the fact that pigs will eat literally anything have anything to do with it? Is it more potent?
