Nice to see a little side-by-side comparison to get a feel for how each injector pattern looks. My only gripe is that you don't mention specific advertised flow rates. Not all Jeep injectors use the same flow-rates so what may work for some, may not work for others. I'm sure it's nice confirmation that the chinese imitations do have their shortcomings in performance though.

Does a 4 hole injector use more gas that a single hole injector ? Which would you recommend 4 port or a single port ?
@hndaxr400rdr2 жыл бұрын
No they do not. and multiport will be a better option over the single port OEM design.
@SlikLizrd2 жыл бұрын
NO. More holes doesn't mean more gas. The JEEP 4.0 and the FOMOCO 4.6 2v use exactly the same 19 lbs/hr injectors. The early models with the fat metal bodies would often boil the fuel while on the trail. The Bosch/Ford injectors from the '98 4.6-liter FOMOCO engines have the newer, slim design that runs much cooler and doesn't boil the fuel under the heat of the desert. The '98-up Bosch/Ford (4-Hole) injectors are the perfect solution for your JEEP engine's smooth idling, grunt-crawling, and hill-climbing, too. NOTE: ALL of the 12-Holers are 24 lbs/hr -- TOO BIG -- your JEEP needs the 19 lb/hr, 4-Hole Bosch/Ford design for all-around best performance and economy. Same injectors as used in the famous 95 MERC: www.mercuryforum.com/forum/grand-marquis-14/1995-grand-marquis-restoration-8937/

From the looks of the video the 4 port bosch injectors where the best. It looks like it sprayed better than the 12 port bosch injectors. I thought the 12 port would flow better than the 4 port. Is this the actual case? Or did I just not realize the 12 port was actually better?

OEM JEEP fuel injectors are 19 lbs/hr, 1-port type. Your JEEP performs best with the Bosch/Ford, 19 lbs/hr, 4-Port injectors. The 12-holers are all the 24 lbs/hr type -- too big -- that's why they ain't OEM.

@SlikLizrd2 жыл бұрын
Your JEEP will perform best with the 4-Hole, Bosch/Ford fuel injector design. Best replacements for those fat-bodied early injectors = 4-Holers - OEM for '98 Panthers -- slim design looks cleaner -- NO large metal heat sink to boil your fuel while on the trail.

My experience with a similar injector machine is the more atomization there is the more fuel I have to pull out of the fuel map on a stand alone efi system. The factory ecm is very limited on its adaptive strategy to these kind of changes as it only can use its long and short fuel trims you cannot change the base fuel map.

I wish my experience with your injectors was 100%. It does seem smooth at cruise speed, it does start right up. Loss of some city mpg, slightly rougher idle at stoplights, rougher at passing acceleration, not as snappy passing. Jeep would slightly slow on hills before, now it has to downshift and seems to struggle to maintain speed. After using them for 6 months, and scanning every possible problem, I'm going back to stock so I can have my old Jeep back.
