I'd actually be interested in seeing a comparison of a CAI vs removing the oem resonator in the bumper and replacing it with a 76mm filter, but leaving the rest of the intake stock.. That's basically what I did.. I understand it might not make more power really, but it's just to breath a little better without removing every oem intake part, and then obviously removing the filter in the stock intake box.

You dont need to replace stock hose if that is your question. I helped guy in UK to make real good cai while keeping stock hose.

injen intake 350$, meanwhile I with a conic filter in place of stock air box😂 all the cry babies die when they hear it's a short ram not a CAI because air is soo cold into the bumper zone. "don't use it bro the crossover and vtec is mute eith a short ram and you lose power because of hot air"

It is real easy to chanel cold air to short ram. So hot air is not of a concern

When moving at 80kmh even with no ducting IAT will be +6c of ambient temp. But at low speed it gets hot

In those condition it will get sluggish as iat is around +15-20c.

Why you keep putting as an example shitty short air intake set ups that only make good numbers in a dyno with a fan on, hood open and filter outside the engine bay...? In a dyno a short ram like thst will outperform a cold intake set up obviously... driving the car is another history because it will lose 15hp or more. In the tsx video they said filter was clogged up and that was the reason of the improvement removing half of the pipe... hp are anyways weirdly low and it is obvious there is a problem with the engine or the tune, there is no way all that lose come from intake... In practice, there is no big difference between different intakes...90% of people is running a cold or a short air intake (or better said, just a metal tube) and if the rest of bolt ons are good, everyone is surpasing 240hp at least. Even with a replacement kyn filter and stock air box without resonator or a ct ice box you can achive that... so taking a 215hp graphic and say "look, that car make no power because of CAI" doesn't make sense.

I have compared long intake that is sticking out of bumper also and it lost. Gears and gasoline did same test with same resoult. Hot air is not of a concern with short ram. It takes 10 bucks worth of alu hose to solve that problem. I did not say it was cloged filter. They say that but in first wideo it was freshly instaled and had same crap resoult like in second video where they remove it. Other proof is injen being useless is all of people who hace serge flash with header and injen. Non of you got enough airflow to reach 0.96 lambda on that map. With injen problem is diameter of tubing. Make one with 90mm and it will be better. It was worst performing in hondata test also.

all over the place people talk about 240hp crank with reflash, headers and CAI but let's be honest and accept it is barely 210. I don't like it and I hope for more too but it's not 240

@@honda_maniac Reflash headers and CAI is about 220-230 there are plenty of Dynos wich confirm that. I said 240hp or more with exhaust, headers, intake manifold, intake, 50°vtc, maybe some TSX/typeR cams...and of course a custom map. With that everyone is making 240-260hp and everyone is running a CAI or a SAI... if it is at least 3" is okey, then differences between 3/3,5 or even 4" are minimal. As well if it's longer or shorter or if it is a metal tube or a box... but what it really matters is temperature, to be able to maintain the power you make on the Dyno in real life

@@CL9k24a3 My intake is not injen, is a fujita/DC style. Just putting a hose next to a filter attached to a very hot tube metal in the middle of a very hot engine bay clearly is not enough to compensate temperature... My CAI is very cold and maintains temperature very well, under 20° IAT is just the same than ambient temperature or 1° more, and above 30° is like 5° more than ambient temperature... but even with that and TB bypass done, above 20° or so, fresh air is not capable of keeping cold the metal between battery and TB (I have to wrap it and put thermal gasket in manifold) And in summer even maintaining an IAT almost the same as ambient, I can notice a clearly drop in power... so I just don't believe a SAI could keep the same performance with the hood closed. Your intake is a different history because is closer to the bottom, and it's a well orientated hole sucking fresh air into a well isolated plastic box. While a SAI is an open filter sucking air from all angles and normally is located next to battery very close to engine and hot

My one mod i regret buying. Just have it on because of the cost
