Hmmm, just got a OnePlus 5T replacement screen. Decided to get it "with the frame" this time for a little extra. Save mucking around with the adhesive. Well my frame didn't come with the volume flex, power flex, ear piece or the antenna cables, so now I'm wondering if I go through the bother of transfer all those fragile little pieces, or instead try to remove the new LCD from the new frame and risk damaging the new LCD... hmm. Best to get LCD only without the frame for anyone considering getting it with the frame.

No, you can easily swap all those bits from the old one. Look on youtube, there are how-to videos. Only thing, I would get a new USB/earphone cable and replace the original one, because it will fail eventually, even if it hasn't yet. Better to replace it now while you've got it apart anyway.

If you are careful you can swap everything, get some 2mm double sided tape just in case the adhesive on some of the stuff goes bad from all the touching. And check that you ported all the little contacts over! there is one on the top right corner of the phone, right beside the back cameras that is for the top antenna band, don't forget that one cause I did and my bluetooth range went down steeply. I noticed it when looking at the old screen and now I've put it where it belongs (in the phone) and voila! Bluetooth range is back!

I got mine with the frame but unfortunately the clips on the new frame aren't very good and now there's the tiniest of gaps between my back panel and the display frame. I'll probably get the screen without the frame (my front glass shattered again) and put it in the original frame, which clips in place like a charm

My OP5t just got delivered yesterday and i did install it with the help of your video. Everything went well until i restarted my device and touchscreen is not working. Any idea on how can o fix this? I tried rebooting countless times and still not working. Canoot reset it cause recovery needs my old password. ::

Oh boy, You won't. I am using heat and all the tools under the sun, Getting the screen off the main board is impossible. I don't know how he made it look so easy to slide something in there.

Do not attempt to do this without a heat gun. You will be sorry. You also need to be a lot more careful removing the display than this guy did. I would have thought he would know it's an Amoled display, not LCD. It's pretty obvious also that you should take out the SIM tray before you do anything else.

@@gangsta412 It's a lot better if you can set the temperature so you don't melt anything. Better yet, I was able to find on eBay the display with frame complete, so you don't have to use the heat gun at all. Much better, and didn't cost that much more than just the display itself. But you have to swap over all the little ribbon cables and such from the old one. I would replace the USB/earphone cable with a new one while you've got it apart, even if it works ok; it will fail eventually, so replace it now and save having to take it apart again later. That cable is not very expensive.

There are other videos which lets you change the screen/folder without the need to remove camera, vibration motor etc. like kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJfKXqmmqp2djbM thats not my video sharing so that you don't try to fix whats not broken.

Please help me i tried testing the screen but it only vibrates after 3 seconds of holding down the power button. Then again after 3 seconds but no screen output. Edit: Nvm it was out of battery

This phone has an AMOLED screen not LCD...
