Ketchup you forgot there's a whole other layer to the corner mixup with Dexstarr! With Dexstarr out you can also combo off of a d3, both mid screen and in the corner! That means they now have to guess between low, overhead, and grab, all of which lead to a full combo into restand!

For those of you who like using stats, it appears that his breath's DoT scales off of Atrocitus' strength, with ability only affecting the plumes initial damage on contact. Due to enemy defense, the damage will more than likely result in the same tick damage you see in this demonstration. On a side note, Life Drain is completely based off of ability, as expected.

Ketchup, you should probably mention that the b23xxbreath restand doesn't connect on small hitboxes characters. They can block the breath or even duck ( because it is a high) and full combo punish you for that.

Ninjaman16709 With very strict timing you can still get it to restand in females. It's too inconsistent to be practical though. You can can just restand with the b23 and force them to block a fireball from Dexstarr immediately after. That way they'll still be forced to eat a mixup.

Thanks for the idea and video. But you can actually do more damage with just 3 breaths and using Dex-Starrs Blood Ball (just one blood ball) instead of Blood Wall. Therfor easier to execute. Also, the 2 breaths with 2 d2 does actually almost the same damage as the 4 breaths with blood wall. I am not sure if thats worth the hassle and limited time of Dex-Starr, for just that like 20 dmg more than without Dexx. So if you want that extra dmg and use Dexx for that, do the same combo with two d2 and two breaths and shoot one Blood Ball at the same time you end the second d2+up breath then you can add another d2+breath. I also want to add, that ending with breath is always a good idea to end combos if you want to go for damage, because it does not scale with the combo, it always does about 10 ticks (maybe 11 dunno) and thats 60+ damage at least, at the end of an Combo. Edit: btw. it would really help if you turn on health bar numbers. So we can see the actual damage done with those dots, otherwise its hard to see and calculate without going into the lab on our own.

If you pressure you can use b233 with dex starr its plus 3 or 4 and the f123 string is -1 soo its a good option too. the problem with the walk punch that its a high hitting string which the opponent can crouch and punish. As always great video 👏👏

Why doesn't no one use db3 with all of dexstar set ups. Especially mid screen when it gets mb and you can basicly loop any combo previously. Also the drain stacks with bf2 & df2 with killer damage.

I can assure you competitive players do not worry about gear because they play with competitive mode on, so gear effects and specials are turned off and the statistics are all balanced.

yea I gathered that the pro scene wont be concerned with gear as the system makes the game unfair, and fighting games are about balance, but specifically abilities, they can change a characters move set (so can some gear) I gather tourneys will be all about non gear comp mode. But I hope eventually NRS let us use comp mode, but have an extra option to turn abilities on.

Corey Alvey I somewhat agree but with other characters doing the things they can do. I find this small detail being fine at the moment. If at some point atroc got buffed to being top 5 I could see that being changed.
