Tip for this fight: constantly be on the offense and find opportunities to hit brainiac whenever possible. he can only do those bs tentacle moves while he is at a standstill, so as long as you just don't let up on hitting him, he will have to resort to grabs or less effective stuff like that.

That’s kind of what I did as well with Batman. When I played as Superman I struggled against Brainiac and died several times in story mode. With Batman, I am way more familiar of his combos and special moves, and I started off my offense very aggressively against Brainiac, and had the upper hand especially during the first round, where he hardly had a chance to recover and attack me. Crazy part is I was able to defeat Brainiac on my first try as Batman, while I struggled big time to defeat him as Superman.

It’s like Brainiac has the ultimate counter to every single one of your moves, he uses the back tentacles to stop you from getting out of corners, the arm tentacles to counter close combat, and the claw for any long ranged combat

What was crazy for me was when I played story mode, I struggled a lot to beat Brainiac while playing as Superman and dying several times; but when I had to fight him again playing as Batman, I was able to defeat Brainiac on my first try.
