Love the cards, Kelly. I liked your comparison between the distress and distress oxide blending.

Hi Kelly!! The cards are beautiful!! I watched a video that Tim Holtz done when the oxide inks cam out and he said that the oxide inks and regular distress inks play well together!! I wondered if you did a base color of the oxide then added a top layer of the regular distress color...then maybe the card wouldn't have the chalk like finish? I have tried this yet but it just might do the trick!! I do love how the oxide inks blend so easily...but I'm like you l really love the brightness of the regular distress inks...but blending the regular distress inks is much harder. I hope you do a video on this and share how this wold turn out!! Thanks Kelly...I seriously can't believe you fussing cut out this stamp!!! But it really paid off they are stunning!!! 🦋

The cards turned out beautifully. I just picked up a few of the oxide inks at the scrapbook expo, so this comparison came at a perfect time for me. Thanks 😀

I feel like the oxides get a super muddy color when wet and mixed :(
@KellyTaylorCards7 жыл бұрын
Marie W I haven't had that problem. It may depend on the colors you're mixing together. Once you mix them with water I don't think they sit on top of each other like they do if one is wet and one is dry.

Love the bright colors you used! I've often wondered, since the Distress Oxides came out, if they play well with the regular Distress inks? I know the Oxides are more opaque, but can you still do anything with both formulations together? Just curious. A tip for masks, especially if you're going to use them multiple times, is to "laminate" the stamped side with packing tape. Just stamp your image onto the masking paper as usual, then stick down the packing tape and cut out your mask. The packing tape is non-porous, so any ink that gets on it can be wiped off pretty easily. Also, it provides extra strength to the masking paper, so it won't tear. I got this tip from Maureen Wong. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cards, Kelly!
