I'm happy that you like the Alt-Goldgrün, and I must say, your pronunciation of "ü" is pretty much spot-on! Usually people struggle with the Umlaut. Kudos! Have a nice day and thank you for the video, as always!

I learned German at school, and always wanted to see much more of Germany. Sadly I've not even managed to make it to an Oktoberfest! Really loved the Goldgrün - a lovely colour. More on the other inks before too long!

The Salamander on screen had a pleasant sage appearance. Thank you for the video.

Alt-goldgrün is one of my favorites! Need to pick up a bottle of this.

It really is delightful. I don't think this is going to last me very long!

... enjoyed the video! I like the Salamander as well as the Alt-Goldgrün. Your pronunciation is really good by the way! Oktoberfest? Wild horses couldn't drag me there!

Many thanks, Anja! Yes, I think at my age a visit to the mountains and a less riotous visit to a hotel bar would be better for me!

The last green, sadly, but it was a good one!

I’m going to miss the interaction with the daughter director, this video was joyous.

Thanks, Valentina! She'll be very chuffed to hear that! She'll be home for a day tomorrow, so I can tell her.

Salamander for me out of this lot - that olive greyish is very distinctive. Wonder what applying the water test to Evergreen, Deep Dark & Green Black would reveal?? perhaps some nuances not apparent in the neat form. Interesting.

I can't thank you enough for this video. I was able to learn that I only liked the single ink from the other brand lol Another fantastic comparison video!

Well, that is the main objective of these videos, to give viewers a realistic impression of how they all compare! Thanks for the comment, Joey!

How entertaining! I'm curious. What size nib are you using there?
@writerlywitterings3 жыл бұрын
HI - I always use a TWSBI Go (easy to flush, clean and refill), and 1.1mm stub nib for my reviews of inks.

Wish I could send you some Herbin Vert Pre` to try. Pale but the outlining and shading make up for it in spades. I'm thinking of trying some other Herbin inks once I have all the Diamines I like ;-)
@writerlywitterings5 жыл бұрын
I do like. J Herbin inks - but the bottles are tiny, and very expensive! That's an interesting sounding ink, but I haven't seen it or tried it, sadly.

Their Lierre Sauvage looks very similar to the Diamine Evergreen you're testing here...

JetPens sells 10ml bottles of J Herbin for $5.50 US. It's a great way to test colors. Vert Olive is beautiful in a flex nib. Alt Goldgrun is one of my favorites. Love your ink testing videos!
@marka.2005 жыл бұрын
@@jillbartos8893 thank you! Your comment is timely, I just started trying out a flex pen and only seem to have a couple of inks that are particularly good in a flex (though, let's face it, proper use of a good flex nib can make pretty much any ink look better). I also just learned about JetPens from another video (yes, I am pretty new to all this), so thank you for the pointer, I didn't realize they carried Herbin ink.

This genuinely made me laugh out loud! How much more dark? None more! I love Diamine inks but the names can be a real pick and mix...

I like Alt-Goldgrun too, but it bleeds through paper like crazy. Did it bleed through your journal page? You might occasionally show people the back sides of pages to see the results
@writerlywitterings5 жыл бұрын
Hi, there - no, no bleeding at all. I do love this Tomoe River paper. When you say I might show the reverse side of the paper - I do that every video. Every ink is tested on one side, and then I write on the reverse the following week. So when you see me start writing on the left hand side of the notebook, that is the back of the page I wrote on the previous week. As you will see, this paper has never had any bleed through. In case you're interested, the notebook is a Gourmet Pen Company cahier with Tomoe River paper - I think this is the slightly heavier version, with 68 gsm paper - www.gouletpens.com/collections/goulet-notebooks/products/goulet-notebook-68gsm-tomoe-river-paper-a5-dot-grid?variant=11884651315243 I think I'll have to make that a little more clear in the next video! Thanks for the comment.

My pleasure - I really appreciate people making comments because otherwise I'd be a very sad, lonely fellow!
@phoenixdaradia58975 жыл бұрын
Yes, it really does depend on the paper! Some can be very bleedy. Tomoe River and Rhodia seem to be the most resistant in my experience (and Moleskine the most unusably blinkin awful!).
@jillbartos88935 жыл бұрын
I've never had it bleed through on my Travelers Notebook Midori paper with a fine nib Lamy Safari. Just some slight ghosting.
