Or (and this is a good bit of advice I was given) - don’t get a tattoo just because it’s currently trendy. Trends change. A fad tattoo will look outdated in a few years. So get something creative an meaningful. Or, stick with well known and loved traditions (there’s a few different traditions in tattooing that always look good, like traditional, neo traditional etc). Just stay away from fads.

I'm a tattoo artist and for me, from a professional point of view, funky/weird/funny tattoos aren't 'bad'. Bad ones are the ones which showcase the tattoo artist mistake's when lining or shading. The point is: if you decide to do something "absurd" on your skin, it's just your choice and must be respected by a pro... It isn't 'bad'.
