All you have to do is make the boy tentacles a little longer so they're about a little more than your shoulder, it's not that hard

Aemort Not really, The basic hat shape is what you would follow, you would make the tentacles, then the longer strip of flees. you would fold it length wise and instead of just normally sewing you would put the tentacles inbetween the flees then sew. not too hard.

tea cup Yes, really. There are the back tentacles, the suction cups on the very long tentacles, bangs, and the different colors.

Worked, thanks! Used decorative elastic for band instead of beads and coloured glue with glue gun for dots... And one very happy and excited nephew!

when i made my squid plushie i didnt have hole puschers so i just got some round stickers in different sizes and that worked well too

Note: adding invisible zippers to the ponytailed tentacles (one side where one seam sits) can allow to add small objects (lightweight keys, tissues) as an impromptu handy kit. Also for those who aren’t partial to beads, a “friendship bracelet” using knotting techniques (chevron style) can be interesting too.

OMG! Thank you so much for this hat tutorial/walk through. My son desperately wanted to be an inkling boy for Halloween last year but he doesn't have long hair and he didn't want to wear a wig. I found this video, purchased the fabric, set up my sewing machine that had been collecting dust and sewed him a hat. He LOVES it, my next project and his next request is to make the squid for him. Thanks sooo much for making his costume complete.

I love the design of this hat and I'd love to try making it but I wanted to ask where you got a sheet of felt long enough for the band around the bottom. On Hobbycraft I can only find sheets 30cm long, but I'd need one at least 60cm and yours doesn't look like it was two sections sewn together.

Instead of sewing the base of the hat first, make the tentacles, then sew them on when you sew the hat together. Also I find it much easier to sew two of the hat pieces together, and then sew those together rather than adding it on piece by piece.

This can easily be done for the Squld Girl the same way, exept DO NOT use a headband . And use a different color like orange as the splatoon game shows. And make sure the ears are seperated
