I know producers intentionally get canvasses that are either hard to work with or cant physically sit the duration as it creates drama but in the fairness of competition the show should get canvases that are actually foing to be able to sit

And canvases that can work with the challenge. Most of them come in “this is what I want and I won’t budge” and the artist looks that then “that doesn’t meet the challenge”. How do you work with that.

The canvases volunteer and fill out a form to be on the show. If a canvas knows what can’t sit they shouldn’t volunteer

i mean, i get that its a painful process and whatever, but i dont think the tattoo artist should be penalized for the canvas walking out on them🤷🏼‍♀️ it just doesnt seem fair - its not their fault the canvas wimped out halfway thru

That’s the problem with a lot of these “competition” shows. It’s not an actual competition, it’s a “do whatever you can to make it dramatic” show. They either pick canvasses that they know are going to be difficult to work with, or they just straight up tell the canvas “make some shit up and then walk away to make the artist look bad”

I mean the canvas is a volunteer and they should already know that it's going to hurt just a little bit. Everyone is different because they said the back of the neck hurts but I almost fell asleep it's was like a massage 😂

These canvases knew that it’s gonna hurt. If they focus on the sounds of the needles buzzing rather than the needles piercing their skin, it’s a very therapeutic method that these canvases were missing

I also find it very helpful if you have an artist that will talk to you while they’re doing it..especially about something you’re interested in. Makes the process a lot less stressful

It's so weird to me that someone would sign up for getting tattoo'd on a show like this where you understand going in that you have to be there the whole time and go "It hurts. I'm done" halfway through. Like???

They should make these people getting the tattoo sign a contract saying if they leave before the session is over without a medical emergency they are subject to pay a fee. I feel some of these people don't realize what they are getting into and only sign up for a free tattoo...

As someone nearly covered all over, I’ll happily say, ALL TATTOOS HURT*. Identical placements, on opposite sides/limbs vary wildly in pain. For me the first few minutes, before the adrenaline kicks in, are the worst. Next few hours are up and down some easy bits some not so, after 3-4hrs your body starts to get physically and mentally drained by being attacked so then it’s a battle. From I’ve seen in studios and been told by artists, it’s usually the Alpha Male types who complain the most and pull the most contorted faces, trying to macho it out rather than accepting it is mentally draining. Just sleep well the night before, stay hydrated, eat something beforehand, sit still, try to relax and try embrace the pain. It’ll be over before you know it. Few minutes/hours of hurt, is a fair trade for a lifetime of art. *not sure on what it’s like using numbing creams because I haven’t used them.

I meeean the tattoo are real. This is tv tho so we'll never know if the time is accurate or things like that but the tatts & emotions in competition is real #NoQuestionBoutIt

I don't think I've seen 1 artist have multiple people have an issue sitting the whole time... makes me think it's the artist, not the canvas' fault

People over hype getting tattoos I got three on my arm in prison with a gun made out of a cd player motor,ink pen and a staple. Didn't have a multi tip needle to fill in. Didn't even feel it he finished and I didn't think he had even finished out lining let alone filled in the letters.

🤦🏽‍♀️... you said all that & still said nothin, except *your* experience. Epidermis is different on eeeveryone. Not everyone has tough outter skin n not all skin accepts ink the same; some literally require more pressure too even punch color in. You're no phenomenon, your skin was just tough enough or you got good pain tolerance frfr 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@sweetbuttergeminine4756 I also seen many done while there and no one acted like some on show. I have drawn up a lot done while there many wanted me to do them but I wasn't risking messing up someone's skin doing em. But I think a lot on show is exaggerated.
