I don't blame him for being unimpressed. Discord's always been tremendously diabolical, and he's being faced with a relatively straightforward threat that he could eliminate with the snap of his fingers; he's an expy for Q, who is literally all-powerful. ...But if he did that, Twilight wouldn't have gotten her key, and the rainbow crate arc might take forever. That's right. Discord set machinations in place to defeat Tirek in his favorite manner- plots and schemes. Tirek's "defeat" of Discord was the act that sealed his downfall.

Okay, everyone who is saying,"What is wrong with the writers of mlp?" It's harder than you think. I know, as an author myself, I always find myself having to add major changes to my work because I get so caught up in writing it that I don't notice how much I jump the shark, not to mention all of the pressure people that say how much their writing sucks puts on them. Wit all of the pressure and the due date, it can get hard to write.

This was interesting to watch! The entire fight was nicely choreographed, especially with little details like the chimera turning into what I think was Rarity's cat Opalescence. You have a lovely drawing style too, and using the Aladdin song certainly makes me feel nostalgic. Nicely done! ^_^

Disagree. Tirek doesn't have the true evil master mind as Discord. He had very simple logic of who have the bigger gun wins and thats why he was taking ponies magic to have that giant gun. While Discord aways thinks through and 1 step ahead then everyone else. In S4 finale Discord dissapoited me as villain. I blame writters.

I don't know I feel Tirek was a brilliant manipulator and he was very intelligent about how he went about his plan. Just because his end goal was a little more generic doesn't mean he wasn't as much of a master mind he was able to trick and brute force simply because of how immensely powerful he became.

Awesome video, and this scene would have been great in the episode! Man, a lot of people here hate the fact that Discord reformed! I personally love it, for a few reasons: 1. It works, because he definitely wasn't as straight- up evil as the other MLP villains, and thus the idea of HIM reforming wouldn't be quite as hard- to- believe as it would for them. Much like Q from 'Star Trek: the Next Generation' (Whom MLP:FIM's writers directly based Discord off of), Discord even in his most evil moments seemed like the sort of villain who just wanted to have some fun and didn't care how his actions affected others. Compare that to the villains who wanted to conquer (Nightmare Moon, Tirek), enslave (Sombra), or devour (Chrysalis) everypony in sight. 2. I definitely love that, unlike with Nightmare Moon/Luna's instantly going from evil to good, Discord's reforming was a very gradual process, with him becoming progressively less destructive and more helpful in each subsequent appearance. It makes him a much more complex and developed character, and it just makes sense. Rome wasn't built in a day, after all. 3. I honestly thought what happened with Discord in 'Twilight's Kingdom' worked beautifully. He slipped up due to Tirek playing to his darker nature, realized that he had begun to truly value friendship (Oftentimes, we don't realize how much we need/ appreciate something until we lose it; Movies like 'The Incredibles' and 'Shrek Forever After' were all about that), proved to be genuinely sorry for what he did and showed for the first time that he really has changed (As shown by the scene when he says that Fluttershy is worth saving and doesn't even think of saying the same about himself; The old Discord would never have done that). That's a pretty neat arc to have one character go through in a single two- part episode.

HEADCANON! This segment is a nightmare of Discords. That's why Tirek has reality warping powers and Discord is so sorrowful. Tirek symbolizes both Discords fear and temptation, the former as Tirek is more powerful, mocking him and holding his friends captive representing how Discords once only loved power and it nearly cost him what he failed to realize was more important and the latter because, as I said, Discord only used to love himself and his power and without it still feels impotent. Even now that he has friends who care for him I'd imagine it's hard not to miss being a nigh-omnipotent tyrant. Either way, LOVE this video! I do wish someone would fully animate it, though. Hmmm, I wonder if Janimations could do it without getting shut down again.
