QUICK QUESTION. when i try the path difference like you have done at 9:47, it leaves me the difference ( the lighter bottom half only)of the 2 shapes. not what is similar between the 2. i have been following your videos for a while but there are several times i get stuck. would it be possible that i am using a MAC.

Hey Nick, please help. I just downloaded the new Inkscape and have been watching your tutorials however. My menus look nothing like yours. the toolbars you have at the top are actually on the side of mine. Thanks for checking. I hope so, as I really the dark backgrounds. I did the dark background for Gimp 2.8, (described in one of your videos) but almost all of the dark themes that I have tried have issues. Primarily with the colors of the fonts in certain area. For example in the Preference/Themes window, the buttons at the bottom, Reset, OK, and Cancel, the fonts are so light, you can hardly read them, if at all. Or, hovering over the tools buttons, the hints fonts are the same, hardly read them. Maybe it is my old laptop or my old eyes! I must have downloaded 6-8 different dark themes, and really haven't found one that everything works. Now, maybe I am doing something wrong, but I'll keep working at it. Thanks for listening. Bob

Just a note ... I just tried the 'Gimp-CC-Theme Darker' theme for Gimp 2.8.. Everything looks good and I like it. Darker background and I can see all the fonts clearly. Now, if I could just get Inkscape 0.92 to go dark. I use Inkscape much more than I will Gimp ... Thanks again ...

Just a note to say what I have done in Inkscape ... I downloaded Inkscape_48_Dark_Theme_Vista-Win7&up.zip, Extracted it to C:\, restarted Inkscape. Did not work. Confirmed that all the proper gtk files were in the proper Inkscape folders (etc and themes folders)... I did not do anything with icons yet ... Thanks ...

hey nick, some time ago you made the recreation of an xbox logo, I think it would be nice if you did it with other brands, to show that it is not necessary to have the best software, but if a great creativity (in addition to other tools), or Do these types of videos bring you problems?

No idea what I am doing wrong but no matter what I do I cannot make the eye. when you do yours you have the full intersection shape and the inside is red. When I do it I only have the bottom of the shape and the difference is cut out

I'm new, but it's driven me crazy doing the opening routine every time I open Inkscape. ... I finally got so tired of it, I found info on creating a default.svg file that will open with your preferred palettes, document size, unit size, etc. ... Happy camper here! Maybe you could do a tutorial sometime to show others how to do this? (I found it in the Inkscape Help | FAQ dropdown on the toolbar.)

That's a good idea, I may do a tutorial about that. The only reason I haven't changed the default startup file myself is because I wouldn't want a first-time user of Inkscape to watch and be lost right from the start.
